Some Quick In-House Updates

Hey there guys, just had a couple of in-house updates for you (for those of you who care…. mom)

1) Jay Cheel (who has done just fantastic work) and I are racing towards finishing my film “Prince of Peace – God of War” in the next couple of weeks. The plan is to submit it to the Toronto International Film Festival. It’s finally almost done. The reason I’m submitting it to the Toronto Film Festival is because #1 – I believe in it, and #2 – since I’ve asked a lot of girls out in my life, I’m used to rejection on a massive scale… so I should be able to handle it ok in the likely event that I get shot down. :)

2) I’m going to be appearing on the Hollywood Babbel-On show today at about 3:20pm EST. Marty Keegan hosts the show (if you want to listen to it earlier, it starts at 3pm). Should be much fun. Just check it out at www.nowlive.com.

3) For those of you who are “The Movie Blog” veterans, you’ll notice that the OLD design of the site is back. Once again we have some technical issues to work out with the new design. Pia and Vix are AMAZING and are doing everything they can to get everything sorted out… but it might be a little while before the new design is back up.

4) You’ll notice that at the bottom of the comments now you have to enter the word “Optimus” in a box in order to submit a comment. This is just another measure to fight comment spam. I’m thrilled to report that ever since we implemented this measure, we haven’t had one spam message get through. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but it does seem to be doing the job. Why did I pick “Optimus” as the word? Well… it’s just the first one that came to my head.

5) The good folks over at IESB seem to have their site back up now.

Ok, that just about does it for now. Have a great day!

  1. Is it just me, or is there fewer comments than there were before. Its probably to do with glitches, but its a little worrying, set my mind at ease John, please. You’ve been like a father to us all. Honest.

  2. That’s great news about your movie! I’ve been dying to see it now for almost a year ever since you announced you were doing it. Best of luck getting into the film festival. I hope you make it in!!!

  3. John, with your luck, you will not only have your film picked up but will also get a major film deal and win best documentary at the Academy awards.

Really. I mean, I’ve been around the Movie Blog an awful long time, and i remember when this was an extremely small site. You’ve come along way.

  4. you never should of changed the design, this one is far superior. well, as far as the content areas go…i suppose the top and the toolbar could use a bit of prettying up.

  5. And not only is the site back up, but the offending Iron Man pics and video are STILL there! What was the point of shutting them down if the pics are STILL THERE?! Jeez, Paramount is kinda kooky.
