Let Li’s Rogue Pictures Released

A couple new images for Rogue have been released and you can see them here courtesy of” Monsters&Critics.

M&C also have the synopsis of the movie for us as well.

Statham will play a cop named Jack Crawford whose partner is killed along with his family by a brutal assassin working for the Chang crime family. Crawford sets out to hunt down the murderer, whose name is Rogue (Jet Li), and becomes obsessed with finding him.

I am really looking forward to seeing Jet Li in action again. After the confusion about his retiring from Action flicks altogether, I had thought we saw the end of Jet Li. Fortunately he was only saying he wouldnt do historical epics.

But even with the excitement of Jet Li in action, I am even more stoked about Jason Stathom. John and I went to see CRANK last fall and this guy can do action so well. To put him in a movie with another action god is just awesome.

  1. bigsampson kung fu is far from bogus, it is the origin of most fighting arts, and the term is so broad that you are generalising when you say that. You may be thinking of Wushu, which Jet Li studied, which is more about gymnastics and flowery movements than combat.

Wasnt Statham in The One with Jet Li?

  2. oh snap a jet li fanboy…..vant blame u he is very fast…event though kung fu is such a bogus fighting matial art let li can kick some serious ass

  3. and Jet Li never said he wasnt going to do action movies anymore, he said he wasnt going to do Martial Arts movies anymore.

He has stated in numerous interviews that Physical contact alone does not make it a Martial Arts movie. Martial Arts is more than just punching and kicking. Without the Psychological/emotional/spiritual side of it it’s just physical contact, and it’s not Martial Arts.

Do a quick search and you can find interviews where he talks about what Martial Arts means to him. He never said he wasnt going to use the physical side of his talents, he said he wasnt doing anymore “Martial Arts” movie.

From The Academy of Kempo Martial Arts –

“The well-rounded martial artist practices not only for physical fitness and confidence in battle, but for mental and emotional clarity and, ultimately, for spiritual awakening.

It seems odd to some outsiders that martial artists who spend time learning how to block, kick and punch can also be interested in meditation, but from time immemorial the inward journey has been every bit as important as the outward one to true martial artists.”

This spiritual aspect of it in combination with the physical aspect of it is what Jet Li is reffering to when he says “martial arts” movie. Punching and kicking is just punching and kicking.

  4. When i first saw Let Li’s Rogue Pictures Released, I thought it was a call for Rogue to be released after it was maybe halted in post-production then I realized that Rodney meant Jet Li’s Rogue Pictures Released and thought that its funny how a single letter can change major context huh?
