Remember those Frat boys in the motor home in the Borat movie who have sued Borat and the Studio and were also seeking a court injunction stopping the release of the Borat DVD and that the scene with them in it be deleted out of the movie. Well…. the judge hearing the injunction request just handed down his decision… and he said “NO”.
So what this means is that the Borat DVD will not be stopped from getting released, and that the scene with the frat boys will not be edited out of the film. However, the lawsuit is still pending… so they’re still suing them for cash. I have a feeling they won’t be settling this out of court. Why?
Because if the studio settles, then they’re setting a precedent. Fox still plans on making more films with Bruno and Borat, and if they just allow people to sue then and settle with them out of court… then everyone who ends up in one of the movies will sue them too. No, Fox has to fight this thing all the way in court. They’re in a situation where they can’t just settle it and make it go away quietly. They have to win this thing to set the precedent and deter any future people from coming after them.
It’ll be interesting to see how this unfolds.
Those Frat boys did not need any help from Borat to look like total asses. All he did was sit there while they talked about hoes and how bringing back slavery would be cool.

While there are a few more for Borat to tackle, I am, apparently, one of the few who think it is a waste of time because Cohen doesn’t know when to quit while he’s ahead. If he isn’t careful, he’s going to be a one trick pony.
If there is a sequel (Borat checks out the Halls of Justice, perhaps?) the problems Cohen faces are forefront: by now, most everyone knows his character and next time around he’s going to need a story.
These boys are stupid and deserved to be told No. I hope they’re stupid case is tossed out of court. Maybe next time they’ll think twice before getting drunk on film.
They signed a release that they were told was for a Khazikstanian documentary. They may have been retarded, but they were lied to.
I completely agree with John. Even if they don’t want to proceed Fox has no choice but to go ahead in court otherwise, everyone and their mother will keep suing them. I’m happy to hear that the judge said no. The guys signed a release. What more do they want?
