New Talladega Nights Trailer

A new Talladega Nights trailer has hit the web, and I think it’s even better than the first one. Yes, it looks like your typical Will Ferrell flick… but that in no way is a bad thing.

Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) is a NASCAR racing sensation whose “win at all costs” approach has made him a national hero. He and his loyal racing partner and childhood friend, Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly), are a fearless duo, thrilling their fans by finishing most races in the top spots – with Ricky Bobby always leading the pack. When a flamboyant French Formula One driver, Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen), challenges him for the supremacy of NASCAR, Ricky Bobby must face his own demons and fight for his place as racing’s top driver.

Much of the stuff in this Talladega Nights trailer is in the first one, except expanded on more. You also get a better idea of what the plot is going to be (granted, “plot” isn’t usually the biggest deal in a Ferrell film). This had me in grins the whole time it was playing.

To see the Talladega Nights trailer you can go here. Thanks to Henrik for the heads up.

  1. holy shit that looks funny…..so much better than the old trailer…..

as for sacha baron cohen….as long he keeps making stuff like this and avoids starring in “i dream of genie – the movie” type crap he should do well….

i still maintain that borat will be the funniest movie of the year if not the decade…..it could rank on the all time list……seriously the guy is fucking hilarious……

  2. This trailer was playing with the Nacho Libre movie and I will say that I enjoyed it much better in the theater than on the compter. Maybe it was because I was able to hear the crowds reaction, and everyone enjoyed it.

  3. Hey Nazz

Very good point, with Borat also coming out this summer he has a great one-two punch effect happening. I would love him to hit the mainstream cause he is one seriously funny dude, I find his Ali G interviews as painfully funny as the original Office.

  4. You know some people that I know (including myself) thought that Steve Carell almost stole every scene he was in when we watched Anchorman and then what happened? He starred in The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

Do you think this can happen to Sacha Baron Cohen?
Yes yes, he is Ali G, Borat and Bruno in the TV show but in terms of big movie projects, do you think Sacha can go all the way?

  5. Hmmmmm that is so weird.

I guess some people missed the jokes in Ron Burgandy or something because up until now that has to be his best work. and yes, this movie looks extremely funny.

“Bewitched” and “Kicking and Screaming” were horrible movies because they were poorly written and directed, Ferrell was only an actor in those movies, just a bad decision on his part. Anchorman and now Ricky Bobby are Ferrell projects he created and wrote, Ferrell got $2 million for Ricky Bobby upfront with no script, nothing but his pitch “Nascar Comedy”, and that was just for the script, I dont know what he’s getting for the actting.

  6. Anchorman was a let down for me. Farell just wasn’t funny. I loved Farell’s early work, but as a lead he just falls flat at times. Bewitched sucked and Kicking and Screaming sucked because Farell was the lead. Look at Wedding Crashers, Starsky and Hutch, Zoolander and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes back, Farell was gold in these moviess because he didn’t have the lead.

I thought Rudd and Carell was great in Anchorman. I couldn’t stop laughing and the lines Carell had, but when Farell came on screen I stopped dead in my tracks with the laughter.

  7. I’m not the biggest Will Ferrell and did not like Anchorman that much… but this actually looks pretty funny. And it has John C. Reilly, who is one of my favorite actors. I recall that I liked Will Ferrell more earlier in his (movie and tv) career, but somehow I got tired of the same exact way he plays his characters almost everytime.

“Walker and Texas Ranger” … heh heh

  8. I thought the trailer was ok at best. There were funny moments in it, but I’m excited about it. I might go see it in the movies if nothing else catches my eye. I really didn’t like Anchorman all too much when I saw it either

  9. Hehehe, well that made me chuckle.

Can anyone pick out what he says after help me tom cruise, something like “Tom cruise use your witch *something*” I couldn’t quite make it out.

Anyway I am actually quite looking forward to this now.
