I didn’t actually realise this but Stephen Sommers actually left the big budget remake When Worlds Collide for A Night at the Museum. However, he’s back on again after leaving that movie too.
This is good news for the movie, now with Spielberg and Sommers Producing with Sommers Writing and Directing I think it’s set to be a big movie indeed. The story, from Coming Soon, also points us to another couple of big remakes in his hands.
Sommers is also onboard as a producer for DreamWorks The Argonauts

So we’re set for remakes of Flash Gordon and Jason and the Argonauts? Well we knew about Gordon, after all Gordon’s alive…alive…alive…Okay, bad joke! Yet a remake of the ground breaking Argonauts movie? No way, I think that’s such a bad idea.
