Big Momma’s House 2 Trailer

BigmOMMAS2.jpgLast August I put up a post about the new that Big Momma’s House 2 was going into production. I also asked the question “Why the hell are they doing this to us?”

I have 3 problems with this. 1) Martin Lawrence is just not funny in movies. I’m sorry… but he’s not. I honestly can’t recall a single giggle he illicited from me in any of his sad movie career… and yet he keeps getting roles. And Hollywood wonders why boxoffice numbers are down.

2) Big Momma’s House was not that good of a film. I’m not going to go so far as to say that it sucked… because it didn’t. But it was a mediocre film at best and really serves up no purpose for a sequel. And Hollywood wonders why boxoffice numbers are down.

3) The whole “Man in disguise” thing has been dome to DEATH! Whether it’s Eddie Murphy in Coming to America or his Nutty Professor films, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Horrible White Chicks… the list goes on an on… IT’S BEEN DONE! And Hollywood wonders why boxoffice numbers are down.

The trailer for Big Momma’s House 2 has now hit the web and if you feel like abusing yourself you can go to see it here. You sickos

  1. Well, I figured I would be the first to bash this party. Martin has had some funny moments and some rather not funny moments, BUT….I personally thought the movie was rather funny. He must be doing something right because out of all the reviews on here, you can only seem to find maybe 4 or 5 people to post bad stuff about it on here. Really doesn’t give too much room to talk if you know what I mean. What a wasted site!

  2. John and people,

I am not a fan of Martin as well and I really hate most of his movies. However, I must admit he was not bad in the movie Life that I found very entertaining. Don’t you think?

  3. I thought Bio-Dome was a funny movie in my book. You may not like it and I understand, I called it a “great comedy” in terms of if you want to laugh check out this movie. Now I was using it as an example in here for, Would we want to see a second film made? I should have taken out that part after I typed in Bio-Dome about my feelings about it being a great comedy, sorry. :0

*puts gun to head and pulls trigger*

Ouch! that hurt!!! Now I have a mess to clean up.

  4. Lizard, you had me right up until you said ‘Bio-Dome was a great comedy’. Unfortunately you had that at the very beginning of your post, so the rest got fuzzy from there…

  5. Just because you can make a sequel doesn’t mean you should. The same goes for making a prequel as well. Almost everyone thinks that a movie must have a sequel for one reason or another. For example: Bio-Dome was a great comedy and had an okay story with it, but could you really think of and see a Bio-Dome 2? People will do anything for a quick buck and do not care about pleasing fans or making good quality entertainment. And it becomes a curse when Dumb and Dumberer’s and Son of the Mask’s are made, and even the best deteriorate becuase of it. Such as Disney, which has made every movie or story, both new and old, into a sequel on a direct to DVD release. Poor Martin Lawrence is caught up in this curse, I mean, he can be funny. We have seen him be funny in Bad Boys and National Security, and on his cancelled show Martin. Big Mammas House 2? It’s ridiculous for cryin out loud! Only make a sequel if the first became a cult classic and was somewhat good, and be sure you can really deliver what movie goers want if you make a sequel! We must all lower our heads, take a moment of silence, and pray this curse will pass over us and good movie making will dominate box offices with good films. Sorry for the long post….I like to ramble and I daze when I type.

  6. Agreed! Why are they wasting our time and energy with this dreck? Now if only they would make House Party 4! THEN maybe box office trends would reverse upwards again…

Or are they up to House Party 5? Whatever, you get the point…
