I know that this may sound like a contradiction in terms, but one film that is quietly starting to build up a lot of possible Oscar buzz is Clint Eastwood’s new flick Million Dollar Baby. Backed up by Oscar winners Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman, the film looks pretty good. Eastwood even did the score for this film and is nominated for a Golden Globe for it!.

I truly, truly adored this movie. Now I am really confused as to what really is the Best Film for 2004.

Note to Hollywood: Clint Eastwood is a tremendous filmmaker, but Please, PLEASE quit encouraging him as a “composer.” There are people trained to do that.
I think mystic river is boring,hammy,and tedious.

Why oh why does anybody think that Clint Eastwood is a “good” director??? I don’t understand it. I love him as an actor but the man cannot direct. Bloodwork, anyone? I laughed histerically at Jeff Daniel’s make-up in that one. Did anybody NOT realize that it was Jeff Daniel’s character that he ran into at the ATM???? WTF?? They may as well have put one of those “Big nose/mustache/glasses” deals on him. Mystic River was the most over-hyped turd of last year. I’ve seen better twists on pretzels. 45 minutes into Mystic River my 6 month old daughter spoke her first words, “THE KID DID IT!!!”, turned off the movie and crapped her pants.
Looks fantastic. I love that it’s not a typical rehash boxing movie, but then I wouldn’t expect that from Eastwood.
I love Clint Eastwood. I cant wait for this to come out in our neck of woods.

what has me most excited is the score, clint is a rockin’ jazz pianist, and i look forward to hearing what he pounds out.
Oooh…sexy back in the poster, I love a muscled woman! Oh, yeah, the film…have to go see it.
I do like Eastwood as a Director, he’s got a great eye for the camera.
