Well kiddies, my utter contempt for the mess known as Blade Trinity has been well documented on the pages of The Movie Blog recently. However, I must admit that this little bit of news about a possible Blade 4 has me interested. They really do need another one to make up for part trinity (Stupid title). Anyway, the good folks over at Cinema Blend give us this:
Well it looks like perhaps New Line has learned their lesson where Blade is concerned… namely that the Blade franchise is all about Blade, not hot, young sidekicks however well acted and funny they may be. David Goyer of course doesn’t agree, so according to a rumor being run by the folks at MoviesOnline.ca, he’s out the door for a proposed Blade 4.
They go one to suggest that Goyer’s main motive for wanting to build a new Nightstalkers franchise was just to avoid working with Snipes again… that’s a rumour that’s been floating around a long time… apparently the two of the just detest one another.
I’d be up for seeing another Blade film that’s actually about Blade. Get rid of Goyer, bring in some new blood, make the Vampires respectable again, get a solid plot and you could still have a franchise that is alive and well. We’ll see how this pans out.

i think it shouldnt have ever been made.Wesley snipes is a great actor, and was perfect for the Blade series.Adding other main characters to trinity was a serious mistake.I would love to be in blade 4 as a vampire to punish blade.Im deep into martial arts and im an local houston actor.Im deep into the series and would love a shot at this movie.

I would say bring back the director of the first David Norington, in my opinion the first had the best feel to it. It was darker and taken more serious. If the first Blade was not as good as it was then there wouldn’t have been more. Also i think the villians need to be better than the ones in Trinity. I think Ryan Reynolds was good, he stole most the scenes. Jessica Biel was fine, she did her job which was be quiet and look hot. The weakness in the film was in the director and the villains. They werent interesting. I like the actor who played the first vampire but he was miscast, he was great in his tv series John Doe even though it was ill-fated. Then there’s Parker Posey, I have never really liked her. I think she got a strong following in indepenent films for some reason but she was just a clown in Blade Trinity. Without interesting villians no one cares if the good guys win. These films need the darker feel that the first had.

What about a mutual agreement that Trinity is a Blade spinoff and then we all get Del Toro to redo a Blade 3 to add to the first 2 in the traditional sense of Blade being the ‘hard man’ central character and then Trinity could be the Nightstalker spinoff and they could have a sequel Blade Trinity 2!
I personally would love to see a NightStalkers spinoff. I think that Newline Cinema should do a Spinoff of the NightStalkers, and a Blade 4. I loved the Nightstalkers so that would be cool. And I liked the Blade movies with just Blade. But just to let you know it would be really weird if they did a Blade 4, because they just did Blade Trinity, and Trinity means the end of 3. But I would love to see both a Nightstalker spinoff, and another Blade Trinity.

Well I think that Whistler should come back on a fourth movie. They need to drop the Nightstalkers or whatever you call them. I do agree that Dracula was to easy to beat. If they create a Blade4 it should be where Dracula returns. Also I think Wesley Snipes is the 1 true Blade!!!
blade 4 should be directed by chris cunningham (the music video director) and written by marv wolfman (the blade comic character creator writer). To be convinced of these talents see Come to Daddy Video by Aphex Twins..read Tomb of Dracula by Marvel Comics.
Just finished watching Blade: Trinity. Easily summed up, Blade Trinity lacked a lot of which had made Blade become so strong as a film character. Anyone who is a fan of the series HAS BEEN because of the awesome kickass scenes where Snipes beats the crap out of everything in his sight. If it’s audience wanted humour, they would go to the comedy section of the movie store. Sure, throw in a couple of laughs, but don’t shove it down our throats. Snipes is hardcore and should be kept that way. The movie was alright, I admit, and regardless of the endless subliminal advertising from Apple it was definetely not painful to watch. As for a Blade 4, they must remember that we as an audience wish to see a climatic ending, not a stupid tiny little arrow from some nobody pretty much killing off the ULTIMATE DRACULA. Seriously, make it a worthy final battle, as they did the first 2. We complain, yet every single one of us will be in the seats for the fourth. End of story.

i think that in blade 4 they should have michael jai white (don’t know who else would fit) play a character who is just like blade in every aspect except for that he is a human but who despises all vampires, even blade. and somewhere in the film he says the lines from the first one, “blade, you’re nothing to me but another dead vampire”
Snipes IS Blade. He doesn’t need to develop the character. Blade needs only face a new challenge from the Vampire Nation whether taking out Frost, Reapers or developing Vampire WMD. Like to see 4 focus more on him than the supporting cast except Whistler, who somehow has to survive death again.
P.S I forgot to say, maybe if they do make a fourth installment, or should i say if I get appointed with the task, hopefully, then maybe they could bring out a better dvd box set, the trilogy set was total rubbish. It was just a few measely pictures taken from each film and stuck onto a bit of card.
Well Im a huge Wesley Snipes fan, I’ve seen nearly all his films, ok so he likes to play a cop role most of the time, but he is inevetibly the best actor that could have been picked for the blade character without a doubt. Quite frankly im disappointed with how he was cast a side in blade 3. He is the one that made the franchise what it is. They should make it up to him by making a blade 4 where he turns evil, he is the only vampire left after all, and also give him a bigger pay packet for the inconvenience caused. It started with Blade it should end with Blade. Go Wes. I think i could make a better go at writing Blade 4 than what Goyer could.
Blade 3 was good and bad, it was good because we get to see blade in action again. its bad because The appearance of Drake is premature, and so is the appearance of the nightstalkers, in order to bring in the nightstalkers you would have to do at least 6 movies, in my opinion and i dont think that would happen. Whistler dying…i could go either way on that one, another flaw was bringing in triple H, he did nothing for the image of the franchise, again another reason why we shouldnt take people who dont do movies on a regular basis and most circmstances and put them in movies. If they can go back to basics, they should really do blade 4 the way blade 1 was done.

i honestly think that Blade Trinity was ok. I had just bought the “unrated” dvd, and that had a well done version of the movie on it. The ending in this version paid more tribute to blade himself. it kicked ass. I do think goyer should stick to writing and not directing but ……yea…thats it. I think that blade should go after michael morbius in blade 4 if there is one. Remember him from spiderman?

I think blade 3 should have been better.There was not enogh action.I hope they make a number 4 but I also hope they bring back the directer from the second movie.The second movie was fucking amazing.Del toro the director did a asome job. So I hope they make a fourth one and have del toro to do it. And of course have snipes as blade. I think in the next one they sould get more creative like in the second one.
Blade 3 was okay, but it didn’t measure up to the level of the first and second. I think they should do a fourth Blade movie, with a better director, to end the series with a real bang.

Blade trinity was bloody fantastic! Of course it had it’s flaws but what film doesn’t? Personally they should carry on with the whole idea of Blade! Go back to the routes of where the Blade story started. I didn’t think much of the Dracula! To modern, but i thought the freakish version of him was very entertaining! I also like the new weapons they have introduced in this version and should keep up with the new ideas! I also like the fact that there is humour in this one, that actually made me laugh! I give this film 7/10

With the way movie sequels are pushed out so quickly these days its hard to truly say “hey that was a great addition” to any movie. True Trinity was lacking in several areas but with the audience spoiled to expect cg effects each more breath taking than the last and on oscar winning performance I think people have forgotten how to just “enjoy” a movie without trying to extract cinematic perfection from every frame. there is only so much a movie can do. Especially the blade series ,there are only so many ways to do “vampires” but i do agree del toro did the best. All and All i think trinity was a fitting edition to the series even with the “open” ending for a movie that has been quoted as the last of the franchise. Ryan Reynolds was great and Snipes was blade at his best. Dracula was A bit less than legendary in my few and was defeated way to quickly but all and all Trinity was worth waiting for in my opinion.
I’m a fan of the Blade series but i agree with janeyg that dracula was to easy to defeat but Blade Trinity was after all a great movie, just like Blade and Blade 2!However the idea of a new Blade movie (Blade 4) is excelent and i’m very excited! And Wesley plays excelent the role of Daywalker!
Surely dracula was one of the campest villains? Also, he was incredibly easy to defeat – or maybe I just got bored and missed him doing any really deeply villainous stuff. Poor, poor plot.
Ok, I’ve seen Blade 3 twice now. Im a big fan of the first 2. Never read the Blade comic book, so I’m a bit impartial to the movies because of this.
Everybody is right in that 3 is of a different calibur, but still I think it is a great movie. Killing off Whisler and Drake I wasnt so fond of, the ever so obvious IPOD advertising was a bit nausiating. But I digress.. Reynolds comic relief breaks up the action nicely. …”Take a suger frosted f*ck of my d*ck..” Too funny… Still a good movie. And come on… Jessica Beil rocks… the subway scene? amazing… I think Im in love… j/k… I would love to see a forth Blade (beter done yes) that had her in it. Or even a spinoff movie about the nightstalkers that didnt have Blade would be fine too. Just my 2cents as a average superhero movie junkie…

Blade trinity was entertaining in it’s own right, but it is not true to waht made the first two movies great. Not enough gore, the vampires are wimpy, whistler gets killed by the human swat team of all sources? Goyer screwed Blade’s character over by putting so much emphasis on reynolds’ and biels’ characters. I say get a new writer, get snipes excited about a worthy script to conclude the Blade series and have a director like del toro’s caliber to create a movie that revolves around Blade and incorporates the comic book vision that was used so well by Norrington and del toro. I just do not want to see the Blade series to end so crappy, it’s like Sipes and Blade were just pushed to the side by goyer and his crappy directorial “vision”.
Actaully why hasn’t sombody approched Marv Wolfman to write a movie scrip and pick a director. Blade was his brain child, his creation. It would only make sense to go to the originator for a great Blad/vampire story, right? I think he is probably still sore at Marvel for stealing the copy right for his character’s.
I for one would love to see a Night Stalkers movie. But one that remains true to the 1970’s Tome of Dracula comics. With Quincy Harkers vampire hunters. Or even remove the Nightstalkers tag becaue they actuall didnt come into the picture until 1994. Even then it was just Blade, Hannibal King (as a vampire) and Frank Drake (a decendent of Dracual himself). There were also supporting roles for Bible John, a crazy vampire fanatic that has crosses tatooed and branded all over his body for protection from vampires. Yet I digress…
I still would like to see maybe a Tomb of Dracula movie with Quincy Harker, Rachel Van Helsing, Frank Drake and the Tibetian bodyguard Taj. These were probably the greatest stories told by Marv Wolfman. Not to mention where Blade originated from.
Well I think Blade Trinity was ok but should have been far far far better. As far as goyer goes I knew he was not the man for the job from the get go. I mean honestly why would anyone make him the director when so many of his ideas on Blade 2 had to be written out or changed as Del Torro stated in the commentaries. I think if they wanted a really really good Blade Trinity then she should have waited a little while longer and gotten Del Torro again, I say that because out of all of the movies I think number 2 is the best. He had the best vision for the characters and the way the movie ran. Not to mention he brillianty decided to give the movie the more comic book feeling seeing as Blade has his origins in comics. So in closing I say. GO DEL TORRO!!

and all this crap about snipe and his character cant go anywhere anymore, if that were true, they should have stopped at 2, but nooo goyer wanted a 3rd one. so all that you see onscreen is all goyer’s script, screenplay and editing.

I’m with Doug on this one. I haven’t seen Blade Trinity yet but from all reports it sounds like a huge missed opportunity to close out this franchise on a high note.
But regarding David Goyer: if any one person is responsible for breathing new life into comic book adaptions, it’s him. Before Blade, comic book properties were in a pretty bad space. Blade demonstrated to Hollywood the possibilities when you treat the source material seriously.
Does anyone remember Goyer’s original idea for Blade 3? It was going to be a post-apocalyptic world where the vampires had won — kind of like The Road Warrior with vampires. That would’ve been pretty darn cool.

Eh…I disagree. I think Snipes has done all he can with the character (which is not much). I really don’t care to see him snarl and slash again.

goyer is a dick. and that rumor is no rumor.
goyer had problems with Blade 2’s Del Toro as well but El Toro was cool enough to ignore Goyer’s rants and changed his script anyway.
Blade Trinity proves that Goyer is the 2nd cousin of Paul W.S.Anderson and Uwe Boll.
