Baywatch The Movie

baywatchArt.jpgOh my goodness gracious. If you are a scientist looking for evidence that the human race is completely hopeless… you need look no further. Get ready kiddies, cause Baywatch The Movie is coming your way. Who thinks up this stuff? The good folks over at Cinema Confidential give us this:

Dreamworks will be producing a “Baywatch” movie for the big screen. Yes, the big screen, not television. The film will be adapted from the TV show which ran for 12 seasons and spawned the careers of such people as Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Gina Lee Nolin, among others.

I’m sorry… did that say DREAMWORKS?!?!?! What the hell!?!?! Have they gone totally mad? In the church of Hollywood I’m loosing my religion faster than a teenage Penticostal on prom night.

  1. Baywatch: the Movie won’t be the same as the TV show though – knowing Spielberg he will do a great job an will most likely turn it into a thriller, so none of this logan/caroline shit

  2. I think Baywatch was at one time, a great show. I think the show fell victim to poor writers though, and the fact that the wishes of their viewers were apparently ignored. If this continues, how can DreamWorks expect any success from this project? I stopped watching when the writers split Logan and Caroline the way they did. If there’s anything I want to see out of this movie, it’s a re-birth to that relationship. Jaason Simmons was great as the part of Logan, and I’m sure he (like anyone else) would take that part again for the right $$$, but it wouldn’t bother me if they picked someone else for that role, if he didn’t take the part. I’m telling anybody who’s reading, right now: If this doesn’t happen, I’ll do the same thing I did with Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding. I won’t watch it.

This sentence cracked me up, John. I can’t think of a better way to sum up my feelings on Baywatch: The Movie.
