The magazine also says that Reese Witherspoon will no longer voice the movie’s heroine, a tomboyish princess named Merida, due to scheduling issues. Instead, the character will be played by Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald.
I’m always super interested in everything made by Pixar even if it’s just to figure out the next best Oscar contender for Best picture. There’s not a lot to see just from these concept photo’s but it does give insight just by revealing the art direction that they’ve chosen. Not a lot to see here, but my imagination is doing wonders with what they’ve given.
My thoughts are drawn towards shadow of colossus or ICO. And that’s a really good thing i might add.
Specially the second one with the horse. Also now that I thing about it there is some Zelda-ish elements in there too.
Happy hunting I say.
I see nothing in these images that suggests fairytale. Medievel, yes, but not fairytale
Personally I really like the celtic-inspired look of the film, and am glad that they have gone with a voice-actress to match. The film also looks to have a little bit of a darker tone, which I think is a good thing.
Basically: pixar + medievel (possibly fantasy?) film = me excited.
this is the first time i see they venturing out to the disney-esque type of story. Princess warrior on sort of medieval adventure type. But i’m pretty sure they will do the story justice :). It’s pixar afterall, they rearely fail. They have their own way for creating an enchanting story that never feel “generic” & able to do it on frequently basis.
So much talk of Pixar failing with this. It’s crazy. They polish everything so well I’m sure it’ll be a great story in a cool movie.
If Pixar’s name is on it, I’ll go see it. They are the only film studio that matters.
So what fairy tale is it?
Pixar can do no wrong.
Sure they can.
They just haven’t.
Always!, Always down for a Pixar Film
