Twilight Eclipse Poster Art Online

I actually am looking forward to the third Twilight film a lot more than the second. While New Moon does deal a lot more with the Wolf Pack and Jacob’s story, the real throwdown takes place in Eclipse as Bella really has to decide between Edward and Jacob while Victoria assembles a small vampire army to come help her kill Bella.

And the poster used to promote the June 2010 release has made its way to the intarweb and it looks pretty cool. Its just the letterset, but I like it.

Eclipse has a lot more action and a lot more conflict. For such an emo love story it seems to tease me a fair bit with the promise of Vampire vs Werewolf action. I like the variations of the vamp and werewolf mythos so its not some tired Underworld ripoff.

But I secretly hope that they end the series with Eclipse. I am over half way through Breaking Dawn and so far its the longest Epilogue to Eclipse spelling out in enduring detail what happens next. Nothing momentous at all and no action yet. Don’t spoil it for me, just sayin that right now I don’t need a Breaking Dawn movie.

  1. To Matt: I agree with you Matt S. You have to be careful. For some odd reason, Twilight is considered sacred here on MB. Personally the first film was weak, production value was pretty nill and the acting…..(sigh). Even my oldest children ( who are fans and are counting the days till Nov. 20) have asked me why the CGI in the new film looks bad. And trying not to hurt their feelings tried to explain the production and CGI process and these early images are less then steller but assure them the final cut will look better. ( Much like little Ed Norton’s Hulk). There is another site who is so in love with Seth Rogen, that if you even challenge his “talent” or lack there of you get banned. I did compare the trailer for Twi-light as I call it, to the new Wolfman trailer and my comments were not very well received by our friend Rodney. I just hope for the sake of the fans, this second film does the books some justice…..well at least story wise.

    1. You don’t have to be “careful” about Twilight nor is it sacred. Yeah, I like the overall story of Twilight and I actually liked how the first movie was played out, but its also full of flaws and for the most part the books are emo crap dragged out over 14 chapters with 2 chapters of good action and drama in them.

Twilight is flawed. Never said it wasn’t.

The only anti-twilight comments that get removed are the baseless troll attacks from people who think its cool to bash on it then go into rants about how they never read it nor will they watch the movie.

The commenting rules are pretty simple, and my personal feelings about Twilight are irrelevant to those who post simply to start fights or empty posturing.

  2. That’s a nice teaser poster it sets the mood of the book rather well, I think.

I’m also in the same camp as you Rodney – Breaking Dawn shouldn’t be made into a movie. Of course, I will be interested in your opinion once you’re finished with the book. Eclipse is the best of the series and I was really hoping they’d simply extend a bit of the story to sum up Breaking Dawn and be done with it; however the cash cow that it is I knew there was little hope. Enduring Breaking Dawn as a movie will only be watchable if it is heavily adapted. I like the adapting I’ve seen so far for New Moon…so maybe it’s possible. As of right now I’m highly skeptical.

  3. Eclipse was the one book which didn’t make me feel like it was a chore to get through. Yet this is quite a boring poster. If people only have the font to get excited about, you’re doing it wrong.

  4. Rodney,
I couldn’t agree with you more.
Eclipse is the best book, and they should for sure end with it. Breaking Dawn, (like you im only half way through) is boring, not action, just random turn after another, going seemingly nowhere. Eclipse has something for everyone in it, romance, AND action. I really look forward to it.

    1. I dont know if youre there yet, but:

At the end of Jacob’s Book and Bella’s Book… theres parts… that arent fight scenes, but at the same time they are…. they can adapt it to be HUGE fights and it will have no effect on the story, im sure theyll do that.

Also, if you closely read Breaking Dawn, they mention like 5 flashbacks that show intense action that could be extended in the movie, such as:

Edward: “Felix and Demetri fear wolves, a centuri ago they almost lost their lives to one”
They can make a sick flashback about that

Or when theyre talking about the war between Transylvanian Vamps and Vulturis? That was a LOOOOOONNGG flashback, if they make it into a scene it will be amazing. Thats only 4 big action scenes right there. There were more though. Like the Quillete origins story about Empherius Black

      1. Still action, not to mention 3 huge fight scenes.

Remember the fight scene in the trailer with Felix and Edward? That never really happen in the book. All that happened was Alice being “choked” and Edward being stared at by Jane (causing him pain)

If they pulled out an action scene out of THAT, then I have no worries on Breaking Dawn.

  5. I personally can’t wait for the Breaking Dawn adaptation, mainly because the book sets the film up for what may be one of the worst special effects in the history of film (if I adored the Twilight franchise I’d fear the film adaptation, but I’m more or less nuetral, so I just wanna see what happens. Didn’t like the first, but don’t despise the series either…. I just am disturbed by some of the “fans”, like any other hugely popular series). If they pull it off, more power to them, but I don’t see it happening.

Also, how come people always pat Twilight on the back for having sparkly vampires and not falling into “cliches” like burning up in the sun, or not being “some tired Underworld ripoff”, when the narrative structure and storytelling is comprised almost solely of overused archetypes and so called “cliches”??? I just don’t understand it. Every scene could be cut and pasted from a million other movies; as soon as the scene starts you know how it’ll end, but so long as the Vampires aren’t flying around as bats and the Werewolves aren’t dodging silver bullets it’s all well and good.

    1. Every scene in every movie can be cut and paste from any other movie if you try hard enough.

You can find fault in anything if you make it an issue. Some people just like to dwell on the negative.

I dwell on what I did like about the series. Reading the books has been a chore, but I am more curious about how the movie adapts and what gets done with this franchise.

      1. Well, mentioning something negative about a series does not mean that I “like to dwell on the negative”. I don’t like to “dwell” on any specific aspect of a film, I try to take in a film as a whole, negative and positive alike (it doesn’t always work that way, but that’s what I aim for). If something negative does arise I don’t pretend it doesn’t exist, I aknowledge it, just as I would if something positive arises. Focusing solely on the positives of everything isn’t smart, however much of a warm Hallmarky idea it is. With that philosophy positive advancements would rarely be made, if you don’t aknowledge problems they can’t be identified then fixed. Something you wrote just reminded me of something a lot of fans do, so I asked a hypothetical question. Nothing wrong with stated the positives of something, but if someone doesn’t aknowledge the negatives too, it seems oxymoronic (especially if they’re both dealing with the same subject, such as cliches). Good for you for being a “glass half full” kinda guy, I like to think of myself as being one too (whether you agree or not) but I also notice that the “glass” could be fuller.

“Every scene in every movie can be cut and paste from any other movie if you try hard enough.”

Personally, I don’t agree with that comment at all. If I thought that way, I could see why I would be perfectly content with some really lousy films though.

  6. Rodney
Ok New Moon was the most boring book of the four, and look how exciting they made it look. They will have NO PROBLEM in adding fight scenes in BD. Trust me there will at least be 3 good ones (id name them but its too early for spoilers)

As for Eclipse…. Im 100% sure theyll show the baseball field fight. In the book they said this:

“While the war of 50 wolfs against 200 vampires was going on, Bella Edward and Seth discuss Victorias evil plot”

I was so pissed, there was a huge war going on and they were focusing on what was going on up in the mountain. So im sure theyll show that fight on its fullest.
