Michael Cera fired from Knocked Up

Michael Cera (Arrested Development) is featured in a leaked video online as the original “Ben Stone” played by Seth Rogen in Knocked up. It looks like this might just be a screen test, but the story attached to it online is that Cera was the first pick for this role, and it was later dished out to Rogen after this happened:

Yeah, it’s likely staged just to generate some buzz, but if it was real then this would already be all over the tabloids and gossip sites. So far I have only seen the clip at a viral video site called Funny or Die.com

However, I am looking forward to Rogen and Heigl in this.

  1. it is fake, why? because who would take footage of a fight between a director and an actor from two different cameras and then edit it perfectly so that the sound matches up perfectly and then put your studio’s property label on it? But it was pretty funny still and why would they have a camera pointed at the director anyway? Just in case they got in a fight?

  2. how on earth is this lame?

absolutely brilliant marketing. Cera is a great young comedic actor, looking forward to seeing him in a lot more roles post Arrested Development.

  3. I’d be willing to bet 100 million dollars that this is just a spoof of the I Heart Huckabees footage that was leaked awhile back. What sort of test footage has an aerial shot of the set rolling at the same time?

On a side note I just saw this move Saturday night and it was absolutely hilarious. I’d almost go as far as to say funnier than 40 year old Virgin.

  4. I don’t know if this is real or not, it seems a little staged. Why the hell would they cast a 19 year old in this movie anyway. You can tell he is much younger than Heigl!
