V/H/S: SCP Anthology Film Announced to Expand Found-Footage Franchise

The long-running found-footage horror franchise V/H/S is expanding with a new installment, V/H/S: SCP. The upcoming film will mark the first feature-length adaptation of the SCP Foundation, a collaborative digital project that has grown into a massive online universe of science-fiction and horror lore.

Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios are teaming up to produce the project. The film will utilize the series’ signature found-footage format, framing the anthology segments as recovered field documentation archived by a secretive organization. The narrative will center on a containment-breach event, with individual segments focusing on various entities and objects within the SCP universe.

A Proven Team Behind the Camera

The production team includes Roy Lee and Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures, alongside Josh Goldbloom and Michael Schreiber. Goldbloom and Schreiber bring extensive experience to the project, having previously produced multiple entries in the V/H/S series. Ben Ross of Image Nation Studios and Rami Yasin of Spooky Pictures are set to serve as executive producers.

The involvement of Spooky Pictures signals a continued commitment to filmmaker-driven genre work. Lee and Schneider have been instrumental in shaping modern horror, with credits ranging from The Ring and The Strangers to Barbarian and Late Night with the Devil. Their track record suggests the franchise will maintain its reputation as a creative sandbox for bold storytelling.

Expanding the V/H/S Legacy

Since its inception, the V/H/S series has functioned as a significant proving ground for emerging genre filmmakers. The franchise has helped launch the careers of directors and writers who have gone on to helm major studio projects, including the X trilogy, the Scream revival, and various high-profile horror features. By integrating the SCP Foundation, the series is moving beyond its recent run of streaming-exclusive releases to bring its unique brand of anthology horror to theaters.

The transition to a theatrical release for V/H/S: SCP highlights the enduring appeal of the found-footage format when paired with established, fan-driven lore. As the project moves into development, it promises to offer a fresh perspective on the containment-breach narratives that have captivated the online community for years.
