Following the season three premiere of House of the Dragon, Govee has announced an official partnership with the hit HBO series. The collaboration introduces a range of themed lighting features designed to sync with the show’s distinct visual style throughout its current run.
Fans can now access House of the Dragon-inspired light scenes across the Govee TV Backlight series. These include custom settings like Dracarys, which mimics torchlight and dragon breath, Fire and Blood, featuring crimson and obsidian tones, and Green Reign, which utilizes emerald and gold hues. The Govee Home app also features a matching theme skin to provide a consistent interface for users.
This partnership is a clever way for fans to deepen their immersion during the show’s famously low-lit sequences. By utilizing Govee’s camera color matching technology, the lighting strips can extend the colors of the Red Keep or the shadows of Dragonstone directly onto the walls surrounding the television, effectively expanding the viewing experience beyond the screen.
Available Lighting Options
The collaboration is compatible with the full Govee TV Backlight 3 lineup. This includes the entry-level TV Backlight 3 Lite, the standard TV Backlight 3, and the flagship TV Backlight 3 Pro. Each model uses varying levels of camera-based color capture to sync ambient lighting with the on-screen action in real time.
Season three of the series, which is based on the work of George R.R. Martin, debuted on June 21. New episodes are airing weekly on HBO and are available to stream on Max. For more information on the lighting integration, fans can visit the official Govee website.
