MGM+ recently gave FROM fans a shortlist of episodes to revisit before Season 4, and we do not think those picks were random. We believe these episodes matter because they highlight key moments that could shape the next chapter of the story. More importantly, they may point directly to Julie’s growing storywalking ability and the specific events she could revisit next.
If you need a quick refresher before the new season, this list offers more than just a recap. It feels like a roadmap. These episodes revisit major traumas, strange gaps in the story, and moments that still need a better explanation. That is why this list stands out. It may not just prepare viewers for Season 4. It may quietly hint at where the show is going next.
Why Julie may be the key to all of this
Season 3 changed everything when it revealed Julie’s new ability to storywalk. We now know she can revisit parts of the story, interact with events, and possibly become part of moments that already happened. At the same time, Ethan made it clear that no one can change the story once it has already been told. That means Julie may not rewrite history, but she may still be woven into it.
That idea changes how we should look at MGM+’s recommended episodes. These may be the exact moments the show wants us to remember because Julie could return to them in Season 4. If so, the rewatch list is not just a refresher. It is a clue.
The Season 1 episodes set the foundation

Season 1, Episode 1 feels like an obvious place to start because it is where the Matthews family first arrived in town. However, this episode may matter for more than nostalgia. The theory here is that Julie could storywalk back to those early moments in the woods and come face to face with the young monster that later asks if she recognizes him. If that happens, Season 4 could add a whole new layer to one of the show’s earliest mysteries.
Season 1, Episode 7 also stands out because of the Colony House massacre and Julie’s traumatic escape through the faraway tree. That scene already carries emotional weight, but it also leaves visual space for the show to revisit the moment in a new way. If Future Julie appears during that sequence, it could turn one of the series’ biggest episodes into an even more important chapter.
Then there is Season 1, Episode 8, which digs into Boyd and Abby’s history. That episode feels especially relevant now because the Season 4 trailer suggests Abby may continue to haunt Boyd in some form. If the town keeps using Abby to torment him, viewers will need to remember the emotional damage that still hangs over Boyd.
Season 2 may hide the strangest clues

Season 2 includes some of the wildest episodes in the series, and several of them now feel even more suspicious. Episode 2 comes right after Julie helps Boyd with the rope, which already ties it directly to storywalking. The theory here is that Julie may appear in the woods again while Boyd stumbles through blurred visions. If Boyd could not clearly see what was out there, the show may have already hidden something in plain sight.
Episode 6 likely made the list because it contains Smiley’s shocking death. Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one. If Season 4 revisits the fallout from that moment, MGM+ may want fans to remember just how major that turning point really was.
Episode 8 may be even more intriguing. When the cicadas vanish from Smiley’s body, the scene leaves room for another theory. Julie could storywalk into that boiler room, open a door, and accidentally help unleash the threat. If that sounds extreme, it also fits what we now understand about her involvement in past events.
Episode 10 matters because Tabitha escaped Fromville and woke up in the real world. It also pushed the idea that this place feeds on hope. With Season 4 teasing something ancient and dark, that theme may become even more important. The show keeps returning to suffering, hope, and the strange power this place draws from its victims.
Season 3 may point closest to what comes next

Season 3, Episode 2 deserves attention because it introduces more clues about Miranda, the Man in Yellow, and the repeated idea that hope means something deeper in this world. If hope can act like energy, as the show keeps suggesting, then this could connect directly to the children, the roots, and the larger force behind everything in Fromville.
Episode 4 also puts Randall back under the microscope. His capture by the monsters still raises major questions, and the show has not fully answered what happened to him. Julie’s missing memories in this episode also feel important. The writers may be planting a delayed reveal, just as they did with Victor’s fractured memory.
Then there is Episode 10, which is easily the biggest entry on the list. This episode reveals Julie as a storywalker, deepens Boyd’s moral collapse, unpacks Jade and Tabitha’s connection to the past, introduces the Man in Yellow in terrifying fashion, and ends with Jim’s death. Yet one detail may matter even more than fans realize. Victor leads Henry to the place where he buried his mother, but that same memory also brushes up against Eloise. If Season 4 finally pays off the Eloise mystery, this revisit could prove essential.
These episodes may be more than a recap

That is why this MGM+ rewatch list feels so important. It highlights unresolved mysteries, repeated themes, and story beats that suddenly look different after the Season 4 trailer. We think the biggest takeaway is simple. These episodes may be the moments Julie returns to as she learns how to control storywalking. If that happens, the show may be preparing fans now for scenes that will hit much harder later.
If nothing else, MGM+ has given FROM fans a smart place to start before Season 4 arrives. But if this theory is right, these recommended episodes are not just helpful. They are warning signs.
