“Justice delayed is justice denied”. For upholding justice, the third installment of the epic courtroom drama “Jolly LLB” hit the Bollywood big screens on September 19, 2025! Titled “Jolly LLB 3”, it features both the “Jollys”. Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar star in it by reprising their respective roles from the prequels. The film also includes Amrita Rao, Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla, and Gajraj Rao. It has been co-produced by Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare, and written and directed by Subhash Kapoor.

Jolly LLB 3: Presenting Arshad Warsi (Left) as advocate Jagdish Tyagi and Akshay Kumar (Right) as advocate Jagdishwar Mishra

When a poor farmer dies by suicide as his land gets seized by a tyrant businessman named Haribhai Khaitan (Gajraj Rao) for infrastructural development, the deceased farmer’s wife files a case against Haribhai. The case falls into the hands of the two Jollys, advocates Jagdish Tyagi (Arshad Warsi) and Jagdishwar Mishra (Akshay Kumar).

Jagdish defended the deceased farmer’s right to his property, and Jagdishwar was in defense of Haribhai and his million-dollar project. Soon, Jagdishwar had a realization that he was supporting injustice and corruption, which made him take a stand on behalf of the farmer’s wife.

Now, it’s the two Jollys standing together against Haribhai’s ace advocate Vikram Ray Chaudhary (Ram Kapoor). Keep watching as the courtroom ordeal unfolds in Jolly LLB 3!

The Good:

Jolly LLB 3, the third sequel to the epic courtroom comedy drama Jolly LLB, features the two Jollys, advocate Jagdish Tyagi (Arshad Warsi) from the original movie and advocate Jagdishwar Mishra (Akshay Kumar) from Jolly LLB 2. This film acts as an eye-opener against social injustice and corruption faced by poor farmers in India.

Indian lawyers are known to run after money. However, it was a proud moment to see how the two “Jolly” lawyers teamed up to fight for the rights of a poor farmer who had killed himself because his land was taken away from him in the name of infrastructural development. They sacrificed their hunger for money and fought for justice for poverty-stricken people. I believe, if every lawyer in India had the realization that the two Jollys had in this movie, India wouldn’t be a corrupt nation anymore. It will be a step towards social reformation and development.

Besides the awareness, you will get to enjoy a lot of entertaining melodramatic courtroom scenes in Jolly LLB 3. The screenplay blends deep emotions with humor, a combination that is emerging in Hindi films. In fact, by doing so, the filmmakers have tried their best to keep the dramatic essence of the two prequels alive. The dialogues in certain scenes in Jolly LLB 3 can make you burst out with laughter and even cry out with sorrow.

Akshay Kumar serves as the heart of Jolly LLB 3, and even though Arshad Warsi is the original Jolly, Akshay’s character overshadows Arshad’s character in terms of comedy, dialogue delivery, and screen presence. Gajraj Rao as businessman Haribhai Khaitan, the main antagonist, was convincing. And not to forget the comical judge Sunder Lal Tripathi (Saurabh Shukla), who has appeared in all three films of the Jolly LLB franchise, was one of the reasons for some great humor within the story.

The supporting cast, including Amrita Rao as Jagdish Tyagi’s wife, Huma Quershi as Jagdishwar Mishra’s wife, and Ram Kapoor as Haribhai’s defense lawyer Vikram Ray Chaudhary, carried out their respective roles with perfection. It even astonished me, upon seeing how Kharaj Mukherjee, who is used to playing comical roles in Bengali cinema, has been given the serious role of a corrupt District Magistrate in this Bollywood movie.

The Bad:

Even though the plot involves a lot of awareness, it falls weak with basic storytelling. I have to say, Jolly LLB 3 is not on par with its two prequels, whose stories and narratives were far ahead when compared with it. In some parts, the screenplay has been exaggerated and stretched, which might cause boredom. Of course, you can expect a stretchy screenplay from any courtroom drama!

And to be honest, this is a courtroom drama mostly shot in the state of Rajasthan, India. So, except for the desert landscapes of Rajasthan and some bland courtroom visuals, you can’t expect any special visuals or effects.

The Verdict: A Nice Try, Yet Not As Good As Its Prequels

Out of the three films from the Jolly LLB franchise, my favorite one was Jolly LLB 2, featuring Akshay Kumar. Its storyline was thrilling, and the narrative was engaging. Moreover, Akshay has a unique aura and body language compared to any other actor, and his actions and words call for some real entertainment in any film he does.

Although Jolly LLB 3 does not match up with its prequel, Jolly LLB 2, it still keeps up to its name with fun and emotions that might leave you wondering after you have watched it.
