The Good:

It’s stupendous! The audience was eagerly waiting for this sequel after the release of the Dhurandhar prequel in December 2025. As the sequel premiered on March 18, 2026, crowds literally pounced in theaters, creating a “Housefull” scenario everywhere.
The screenplay of Dhurandhar: The Revenge is gripping, and it will suck you in as the horrific and dramatic events unfold. The narrative is strong and fast-paced, dominated by espionage, raw action, and political commentary. It has been intelligently developed to proceed with the events right from where the prequel ended.

Featuring Arjun Rampal as the lead antagonist, Major Iqbal (Character based on Pakistani terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri)
Expect the unexpected! This is a direct continuation of Dhurandhar (2025), where we had witnessed the notorious Pakistani gangster and terrorist Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) being killed by Indian spy Jaskirat/Humza (Ranveer Singh) and SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt). So, already the audience had arrived at the theaters with high expectations of suspense, action, and thrill from this epic spy-thriller. And I must tell you, this film lived up to their expectations. Mind-boggling twists and surprising revelations form the major part of its layered, exhilarating screenplay. The climax was utterly surprising and emotional. The ending scene revealed an unexpected twist that would leave you amazed. After watching the climax, you would get excited enough to revisit the prequel as well as the sequel to join the dots.

Presenting Sanjay Dutt as Superintendent of Police (SP) Chaudhary Aslam
Compared to the hype of the prequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge also promises a high audience involvement. You would get emotionally attached to this film if you are a true patriotic Indian citizen. The patriotic emotions this action drama will evoke are unmatched. Ranveer Singh, as usual, with his shady, rugged, and daredevil Indian spy character, seals the deal with hardcore action and outstanding body language. He has excelled in delivering his titular lead role.
Arjun Rampal as the sly lead antagonist, Major Iqbal, is terrific. Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan, in their respective characters, are highly impactful. What a makeover R. Madhavan has! He is completely unrecognizable! The dialogues are hard-hitting with patriotism and are powerful enough to blow up Pakistan with their verbal intensity. Even if not in real life, Pakistan has been completely destroyed in this film.
The Electrifying Track “Main Aur Tu” From Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026)

Sara Arjun as Humza’s wife in Pakistan
The background music is superb, which makes the espionage action drama even more thrilling and impactful. The high-definition cinematography, realistic sets, and action choreography are fantastic. The sequences present brutal violence coupled with excessive gore and bloodshed. However, it was the demand of the script. Without that, the script wouldn’t have been so impactful.
Aditya Dhar deserves an award for his impressive directional style, as he has managed to narrate a complex story, which is based on true incidents, with ease. His excellent narrative, framed with creative liberty, has made it quite easy for the audience to grasp every detail of the lengthy screenplay.

R. Madhavan as Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director, Ajay Sanyal (Character based on IB Director, Ajit Doval)
Spoiler alert! The extensive screenplay presents the real Dhurandhar of the film, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who dwarfs Ranveer Singh in intellect and machismo. In between, clippings of the Indian Prime Minister and his political actions, like the demonetization of Indian currency, have been presented. The audience cheered and applauded for the Indian superhero’s wise and timely decisions during those scenes. The scenes aptly justify certain political decisions and actions that Modi took since he came into power as the Indian Prime Minister.

The Bad:

Even though the screenplay of Dhurandhar: The Revenge is highly engaging, the first hour of the four-hour-long screenplay felt a little stretched and confusing. You would need to apply some brainwork to grasp the proceedings. You might get a bit confused deciding the positivity and negativity of the characters as the film begins. However, this doesn’t mean you’ll get off track while watching it. Things will very well sum up for you as the drama proceeds. And as the drama builds up, it simply blasts the screens! However, due to the portrayal of excessive violence and profanities, even if these were much needed, the film received an “Adults Only” (A) certification. Certain theaters may ask for your ID to ensure that you are above 18.
Personally, I feel this is a pre-planned, brazen propaganda for the Modi government. It has been created simply to justify and glorify our Prime Minister’s abrupt political decisions and actions, like the demonetization, which caused sheer inconvenience among citizens when it was implemented all of a sudden. The fact is, the elections are approaching, and Indians are slowly diverting their affinity from the current government. So, to hold on to them, some brainwashing is always needed, especially for the less educated section of society, who literally believe what they are shown.
Violence Reloaded In Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026)!
The Verdict: A Brilliantly Executed Record-Breaking Mega Blockbuster!
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a blend of history and fantasy that converts it into an immersive patriotic action-thriller. This film is unstoppable in terms of Box Office records. Seeing its hype, I can easily tell that this spy action-thriller is set to break every record in the Box Office history of Indian cinema. Evidence reports that people had died in theaters watching The Exorcist (1973). Likewise, the audiences have gone wild after watching this master-blaster action-thriller.

Aditya Dhar hasn’t bothered about the lengthy duration of his film. His motto is, “See it to believe it, and you will surely enjoy it!” After watching many Hollywood spy thrillers, where male spies like James Bond have been portrayed as iconic womanizers, and in some other movies, female spies have been shown wearing bikinis, Aditya Dhar may have come up with a decision. “Wait, I’m going to show the world what a real spy looks like!” That’s how he might have come up with Ranveer’s lead character by portraying a spy’s achievements, struggles, and sacrifices to make a hardcore cult classic masterpiece that will be remembered forever.
I can predict that Dhurandhar: The Revenge will do an absolute record-breaking business worldwide. It is a worthy successor to Dhurandhar (2025), and no power on earth can stop it from becoming a global success. Its hype is so massive that when it is running at theaters near you, you wouldn’t even “dare” to watch any other film. In short, this espionage thriller is a tsunami of chilling suspense and raw action that can crush any other film of a similar genre that comes its way.
