“Fanaticism is a monster that pretends to be the child of religion.” A spiritual sequel to the 2023 crime drama “The Kerala Story” was released in theaters on February 27, 2026. Titled “The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond”, the film stars an ensemble cast of new faces in Bollywood. It has been co-written and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh.

This time, the ordeal happens in the state of Kerala, India, and expands outside it, in two other Indian states, where three Hindu women fall into the love trap of three Muslim men on separate occasions. What follows are heinous tortures and abuses of the women by their husbands. Will they be able to get out of their painful and distressing situations? Watch to know!

The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond (2026) – A True Story of Horror and Redemption: Introducing (from left) Aishwarya Ojha as Neha, Aditi Bhatia as Divya, and Ulka Gupta as Surekha

The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond is enthralling. Even if certain scenes are abusive and disturbing, you will find the unfolding screenplay thrilling and intriguing. The narrative is intense and shocking. You would be shocked and remain fixed on the screens, aghast by the horrific torture scenes, and would wonder what’s going to happen next.

Various types of inhuman tortures towards the Hindu women have been shown, such as forced conversion to Islam after falling into the love trap, force-feeding of beef, and even horrific scenes of partner sharing where they were forced to sleep with other men after marriage.

It is also a prominent practice in Islam, where a man is allowed to have multiple wives. The only reason is to have more children from each wife to increase the Islamic population. This is a reality, and it is presented very well in this film. Women are treated like cattle and are forced to have as many children as possible just for the sake of increasing the Muslim population. I understand that this is a very sensitive matter to convey. But this is a harsh truth of certain followers of Islamic extremist ideologies, and I appreciate this film for bringing this sensitive issue into the limelight.

The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond Promo 1:

The dialogues are realistic and hard-hitting with painful emotions. The action and stunt scenes are exciting to watch. The performances of every actor and actress are bold and highly convincing. They are less popular television serial faces who have superbly matched up with their respective characters. Especially the actresses like Ulka Gupta, Aishwarya Ojha, and Aditi Bhatia. You would literally feel the pain of the victimized Hindu women characters through their remarkable acting.

The actors like Sumit Gahlawat, Arjan Aujla, and Yuktam Khoslla have given terrific performances as the three fanatic Muslim men, Salim, Faizan, and Rasheed, respectively. You would probably want to verbally and physically abuse them upon witnessing their evil, heinous, and barbaric characters. You would even feel elated after seeing what happens to them in the climax.

The Bad:

Aditi Bhatia as Divya

The screenplay of The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond is engaging, but it lacks a shock factor. The fact is that this strident propaganda sequel repeats the same theme as the prequel. So, there’s nothing new for the audience, except for some more vicious tortures three Hindu women face after falling into the love-trap of Jihad fanatic Muslim men. Even though the climax was satisfying to watch, after what happens to the villains, it was a bit unconvincing because it happens very suddenly.

I am also disappointed by the shoddy cinematography and VFX of The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond. The entire film’s visuals appear like an amalgamation of some cheap Indian television commercials.

Moreover, controversy on the censor board certifications had arisen, because of which the Kerala High Court had to temporarily grant an interim stay on its release. This film had become a center of legal and political debate throughout the nation after its teaser and trailer were released. Due to the court’s stay order, its theatrical debut was postponed a bit, which affected its opening day’s ticket sales.

The Verdict: It’s Compelling. But Is Tagging It As A Polemic Really Justified?

Aishwarya Ojha as Neha

I personally don’t have any major complaints regarding The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond. Although the first half seems a bit melodramatic and slow, this is quite an intriguing crime-thriller/propaganda movie that lives up to its name. This time, the story “Goes Beyond” the Kerala state in India, and three different incidents have been shown, which span over two other states besides Kerala. This realistic drama is highly capable of making the blood of Hindu audiences boil with rage upon seeing the distressing situations of the three Hindu women victims of Love Jihad.

There happen to be some hypocrites who have criticized this film as “intending to show stirring hostility against one group (Islam)”, “extreme portrayal of the antagonists (Muslim men)”, “stereotyping Muslims as villains to arouse negative feelings against them”, etc. To those commenters, I would like to ask, where were you when anti-Hindu sentiment films were made by Bollywood, which showed Hindu priests as rapists and Hindu temples as rape hubs? Such hypocrites then praise the film industry for “aptly portraying” the “true face” of Hinduism. But when anything against Islam is shown, such fake people raise protests, negatively comment against that particular film, and file complaints against it. Come on, whatever has been shown is to some extent true. Just accept the reality!

The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond Promo 4:

Upon watching The Kerala Story franchise, I would say that love is not just blind, but loving the wrong person can be the stupidest decision ever. The Hindu women shown in these films are extremely vulnerable and probably lack gray matter, because of which they are not able to judge the men before falling in love with them. This is a highly controversial propaganda film that is running at selected theaters only. If you want to witness the true face of fanatic Islamic “Love Jihad”, then The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond is a must-watch for you.
