The comedy series Trying has officially returned for its fifth season on Apple TV Plus. The first episode of the new 10-episode season is now available to stream, with subsequent episodes arriving every Wednesday through August 26.
In the new season, Nikki, played by Esther Smith, and Jason, played by Rafe Spall, face new challenges as the biological mother of their children, Kat, arrives at their home. This unexpected visit brings significant disruption to the couple’s established family life. The series is created, written, and executive produced by Andy Wolton.

Beyond the return of Trying, Apple TV Plus is rolling out new episodes for several other series this week. The sci-fi drama Silo continues its third season, with a new episode titled It’s All Good scheduled for release this Friday, July 10. The series, which has already been renewed for a fourth and final season, follows a dystopian society living underground.
Additionally, the second season of the detective series Sugar, starring Colin Farrell, continues with new episodes. Apple also noted that new installments of Cape Fear and Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed are premiering this week, alongside the season finale of Star City.
These updates arrive as Apple celebrates a strong showing for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, securing 89 nominations across 15 programs. The comedy Widow’s Bay leads the platform’s nominations with 19 total nods.
