The Trick Williams United States Championship design has sparked conversation among fans and legends alike. Following a recent redesign courtesy of Lil Yachty, the title now features a white fur strap to match the signature style of the current champion. While the aesthetic aligns with his persona, not everyone is sold on the unconventional look.
During a recent episode of the Busted Open podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry weighed in on the new belt. While he acknowledged that the design fits the champion’s personality, he expressed skepticism regarding the choice of materials.
Mark Henry Questions the Fur Design
Henry noted that while the diamonds and fur match the style of Williams, he struggled to get behind the execution of the championship belt itself. He questioned the decision to place fur on the title, jokingly noting that it was exactly the kind of result one might expect when Lil Yachty is involved in the design process.
The Hall of Famer admitted that the look was not his favorite, comparing his reaction to the belt to the signature style of The Miz. Despite his reservations about the physical design, the title remains a focal point of the SmackDown mid-card as the company heads toward SummerSlam.
Baron Corbin Returns to the Mix
Beyond the title design, the United States Championship picture saw a major shakeup during the same episode of SmackDown. Baron Corbin made a surprise return to the company after an absence of nearly two years, attacking both Williams and Carmelo Hayes.
Henry expressed genuine surprise at the return, noting that he had heard rumors of a potential comeback but was unaware it would happen during that specific match. With Corbin now back in the fold and other contenders like Ricky Saints and Ilja Dragunov looming, the path to the United States Championship has become significantly more crowded heading into the upcoming premium live event.
