The Furious Trailer Debuts Ahead of May 2026 Release

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for “The Furious” (2026), the upcoming action thriller set to open in U.S. theaters on May 29, 2026. Directed by Kenji Tanigaki, the film stars Xie Miao and Joe Taslim in a brutal revenge story centered on kidnapping, corruption, and survival.

Along the way, he finds an ally in Navin, played by Joe Taslim, a relentless journalist whose wife has also disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The two men form an unlikely partnership as they battle their way through the people responsible. Lionsgate describes the film as an explosive martial arts showdown fueled by vengeance and desperation.

The story centers on two men driven by personal loss and a need for justice. That setup gives “The Furious” a direct and focused premise as it heads toward its theatrical release.

The Cast and Creative Team

Kenji Tanigaki directs the film. The screenplay comes from Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin, and Frank Hui. Bill Kong, Shan Tam, and Frank Hui serve as producers.
