James Wan produced a new thriller series based on the novel 56 Days. The show will debut on Wednesday February 18 2026 on Prime Video. Fans can stream the series in more than 240 countries and territories. The announcement also includes fresh promotional artwork.

Creative Team and Source Material
Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher wrote the adaptation. They also serve as executive producers. Sandrine Gros d’Aillon, James Wan and Atomic Monster executives Michael Clear and Rob Hackett join them as producers. Danielle Bozzone oversees the project for Atomic Monster. Catherine Ryan Howard, the author of the source novel, acts as co executive producer.
The novel was written during the 2020 pandemic lockdown in Dublin. It tells the story of an intense erotic romance that turns deadly. Two young professionals meet in a supermarket line. They fall into a charged relationship that hides dark secrets. A murder later shocks the city.
Series Adaptation
The TV series was once called Obsession but now carries the original title 56 Days. The show does not take place during the pandemic lockdown. Instead it follows Oliver and Ciara after their chance meeting in a supermarket. Their fast and dangerous love leads to a brutal murder. Homicide investigators arrive at Oliver’s apartment fifty six days later. They find a decomposing body and begin a tense investigation.
Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia lead the cast as Ciara Wyse and Oliver Kennedy. Karla Souza plays detective Lee Reardon and Dorian Missick portrays detective Karl Connolly. The ensemble creates strong chemistry and tension. The series mixes a present day crime investigation with flashbacks of the lovers’ twisted affair. This blend makes the show a unique crime story and a sexy psychological thriller.
Prime Video promotes the series as a thrilling new addition to its original lineup. The release date gives fans a clear reason to mark their calendars. The combination of James Wan production, a bestselling novel, and a star studded cast promises a compelling viewing experience.
