The third edition of the National Film & TV Awards South Africa 2025 returned to the Opera Theatre in Pretoria. The live broadcast on VooVix TV drew thousands of viewers. Host Samkelo kept the audience engaged with humor and charm.
Lifetime Achievement Honors Dr John Kani
During the ceremony, the jury presented the NFTA Lifetime Achievement Award 2025 to Dr John Kani. The legendary actor rose to the stage and received a standing ovation. In his speech, he thanked the awards and urged young actors to keep creating, keep believing, and keep striving.
Outstanding Contribution Awards Celebrate Industry Giants
Four icons also received Outstanding Contribution to Film & TV Awards. Leon Schuster, Alfred Ntombela, Sello Maake KaNcube, and Dr Jerry Mofokeng each accepted their honors. Their decades of work have shaped South African storytelling.

Zenande Mfenyana won Best Actress in a TV Series for “Inimba”. Francois Jacobs earned Best Supporting Actor in a Film for “Khaki Fever”. Thandolwethu Zondi was named Best Newcomer for “GO!”. In the scripted category, “Shaka iLembe” took the top prize.
Londie London captured Best Female TV Personality for “The Real Housewives of Durban”. Devi Govender won Best TV Presenter for “The Devi Show”. Celeste Ntuli was crowned Best Comedian. The competition show “Big Brother Mzansi” earned Best Competition Show.
Wiseman Mncube and Zamani Mbatha received Outstanding Performance awards for their roles in “Shaka iLembe”. The feature film “The Heart is a Muscle” won Best Feature Film. Keenan Arrison took Best Actor in a Film for the same title.
