Vought Rising, the highly anticipated prequel series to The Boys, has finally started production, and Prime Video has given us a sneak peek at the superhero costumes of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Mason Dye as Bombsight, Will Hochman as Torpedo, and Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel.
The prequel series, set in the 1950s, is described as a twisted murder mystery that delves into the world of superheroes. Paul Grellong will serve as showrunner and executive producer alongside The Boys creator Eric Kripke.
The cast includes Aya Cash, who will be reprising her role as Stormfront. Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith will also appear.
In related news, the second season of Gen V, another series set in the world of The Boys, is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 17. The show follows a group of young heroes attending Godolkin University School of Crimefighting.
Here’s a look at what’s in store for the new season:
Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes. As the students vie for popularity and good grades, it’s clear that the stakes are much higher when super powers are involved. When the group of young supes discover that something bigger and sinister is going on at school, they’re put to the test: Will they be the heroes or the villains of their stories?
The cast of Gen V includes Aya Cash, Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith.
Production on the fifth and final season of The Boys has recently wrapped up, but we don’t know exactly when it will drop, only that it will debut sometime next year.
Vought Rising will be the next installment in the universe of The Boys, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
