Contrary to speculation, Johnson explained that he and his team were never expecting to direct a third film. The decision for J.J. Johnson emphasized that his role was always to handle the “middle chapter” of the trilogy. He also addressed fan debates surrounding the Holdo maneuver and Snoke’s death, two of the most talked-about moments from The Last Jedi.
