Pegg Says: Fall Star Trek 2 Shoot is common knowledge

I’ve been clamoring for some more Trek adventures since waaaay back in 2009 when I first saw the fresh faced explorers grace the IMAX screen. 2 years is a really long time for some Trek fix when a lot of us grew up waiting a week to a summer at most for a new infusion of that deep space goodness.

“[Filming starts] this year, as far as I know. It’s pretty much common knowledge that it’s hopefully shooting in the autumn.” Pegg has never had particularly loose lips on the Trek films, despite presumably being asked about them constantly while doing press for Paul, so if he’s saying things out loud at this point you can bet he’s gotten some kind of permission from the Abrams camp.

Idunno dude. JJ Abrams has been dodgy about the subject, at best, and is probably in full negotiation mode. Now that Super 8 is doing some monster numbers in the box office I’m sure Mr. Abrams is able to enjoy some well deserved leverage to compliment his negotiations for his return to work on the franchise and here comes Pegg talking to the press. It’s entirely possible Abrams gave him the “green light” to say such things but if he didn’t then I’d wager someone is going to be conspicuously missing an alien love scene when it’s time to start filming. Just sayin.
