Christopher Meloni joins ‘Man Of Steel’

Christopher Meloni may be leaving his longtime gig as Detective Stabler on TV’s ‘Law & Order :SVU’, but it seems he’s going to have a new job soon – a role in The Man Of Steel. Digital Spy reports:

While he has so far refused to elaborate on his role in the film, Meloni has confirmed that he has been cast as “a general”.

“I can’t tell you, or I’d have to kill you,” Meloni told Vulture when pressed for further details.

Meloni did confirm that he begins shooting the film at the end of August for the next five months across Chicago, Vancouver and Edwards Air Force Base in California.

Now some have incorrectly speculated that he’s General Zod, hence “the general” but that role has already been filled with Michael Shannon. No, I think the true reveal of Meloni’s character is a US military type as some his filming takes place at Edwards. Some fans however, wish he was Lex Luthor in some sort of cameo…

All I know is his casting justs gives me one more reason to see the new Superman film.
