A number of things happened at the recent CinemaCon the other night regarding the upcoming Green Lantern film, including a presentation of a banner and the first official poster. But first things first. The LA Times has a little blurb from the ‘Con:
Ryan Reynolds heard the fan angst when the first “Green Lantern” trailer hit in November, but he promises that Warner Bros. is delivering a deep-space epic with the film, not the comedy-adventure that the trailer hinted might be coming when the movie arrives in June.
Also making the web rounds the last few hours is the Oa banner (above) and the first official character poster below. Not too shabby, I kind of like it. (Like the banner better though) What’s your thoughts?
.
In this case, I can practically assure myself (and myself alone) that this poster looks better than the film thats coming down the pike.
That mask is totally photoshopped onto his face… and his face is totally photoshopped onto that suit… what the fuck is this crap?
Show me a poster that isn’t photoshopped!
The costume is 100%cgi. How did you think it would look on him?
The point is the doctoring is excruciatingly obvious. I know the costume is CGI, but the photo doesn’t represent the quality of the technology used in the movie.
Besides, claiming that all posters are photoshopped doesn’t make it okay when one poster exhibits it more than another.
It is just a poorly pieced together promo that doesn’t do this movie any favors.
I don’t like it, simpler is almost always better.
bet you can’t make a better one.
No I cant, but neither am I a professional whose talent is of caliber to be paid by multi million dollar companies to produce art indicative of a multi million dollar film.
1st am I going to be April Fool?
BTW, there no poster without Photoshop. :)
GL is one of my favorite DC characters but I need to see another trailer before I can really jump back on board with this film.
