Monsters and Critics reports:
Roberts is set to play the evil queen in the new film by Relativity Media, which will go against the traditional story for a modern telling and will include more comedy and adventure, according to Variety.
Well, Tarsem Singh is directing, so I expect a lot of eye popping visuals that hopefully won’t distract from the story (as Tarsem’s The Fall and The Cell did) and I don’t know if audiences are going to be game for this. Casting Julia as the antagonist is tricky, but I think she can pull it off. Will the filmgoing public feel the same?
I don’t know. I mean, I felt the same way I felt about Uma Thurman in Percy Jackson- a villain who is too pretty to be scared of. But I can see Roberts hitting a mark with a cheesy, over the top wicked laugh…and keeping her smile.
well, i’m sure she’ll rock a cartoony villian. i was hoping for a real villian though, i think she has it in her (and thats a good thing).
Julia Roberts hasn’t really played villains before has she? Most of her roles are usually comedies or dramas in which she plays the kind hearted heroine. Not too sure about whether she will fit an evil witch in this version.
and my interest in this project is going ….going….gone
Julia Roberts is too sexy to be malicious.
Is this Snow White and the Huntsman? Or one of the other two Snow White projects?
