Washington To Play Another Villain

Remember his Oscar winning performance in Traning Day? Remember his turn as drug kingpin Frank Lucas in American Gangster? Yup that’s Denzel Washington at his best. So why not try it once more? Well, he’s about to do that. Washington is going bad…

CinemaBlend states:

Deadline reports that the actor has been cast as the villain in upcoming film Safe House, directed by Daniel Espinosa. The film follows a young CIA agent as needs to transport a dangerous criminal after their safe house is compromised. The plot seems similar to the 2006 Bruce Willis-Mos Def film 16 Blocks, but instead of a slow-minded, fast-talking witness in the hands of an experienced cop, you have evil lawbreaker in the hands of a newbie agent.

I have no problem with watching this. The plot sounds interesting. And if the director and script allow Washington to go full villain mode, this will be another great performance by him. I’m intrigued at what the final product will be. We’ll see.
