A Look At The Fast Five Cast

The Fast and The Furious franchise keeps making lots of money, movie after movie. So without a doubt, were getting Fast Five, the latest installment of the franchise. Little is known about the main story. All we know is that it’s currently filming in Puerto Rico and that it’s coming out in 2011. We also know that most of the cast is back once again. Today, we get our first look at the cast…

IGN reports:

Actor/R&B singer, Tyrese Gibson (2 Fast 2 Furious), has given us our first look at the cast of Fast Five, the fifth installment to The Fast and The Furious franchise. Gibson tweeted out set photos of the cast earlier this morning on his Twitter account.

The Fast Five cast will include stars from the previous installments such as Gibson, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, and Lucas Black. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has also signed on as a Detective in the film.

Fast Five is slated for a 2011 release with Justin Lin directing.

The last one wasn’t good, nor bad. It was much better than number 3 at least (from what I can remember). So regardless of how they are liked or not by critics around the world, they are going to keep making more of these movies. Why? Well, because fans keep paying to see them. It’s simple: they like the action, the cast and the cars. The fours films together have made almost $960 million worldwide. I’ll probably see this when it comes out (like I have for all of them). It’s also important to note that the cast coming back is an important element. And adding Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to the cast, I believe is even better.

Personally, I love that they are currently filming in Puerto Rico. In the picture (with all the cast), all the way to the left side, that’s Tego Calderon. And all the way to the right side of the picture, that’s Don Omar. They are both well-known, famous music artists from Puerto Rico (Reggaeton genre). Both of them where on the last installment, so it’s cool that they are included in this new one too.

What do you guys think?

  1. I’m amped for this. Haven’t seen Tokyo Drift.. If I have, I don’t remember seeing it.

I love the Vin Diesel/Paul Walker combo for these. Gibson was fun in the second film as well.

    1. With that statement there I wouldn’t be surprised if the WWE would want to do some type of exhibition match between Johnson and Diesel. Some type of garage fight of sorts. Dammit! I just gave them an idea.

  2. not to happy about the name but i love the fact that the rock (and i dont care that what i know him by so that is what i am going to call him) is in this movie so if the just change the name i will be fine with it

  3. Thats a pretty weak arguement to not see a film just because it has a cast members who are known reggaeton artists. I’m not a fan off the music myself either but something like that simple is not going to deter me from watching this film.. All films have been popcorn fun for me (like the cars, action and women). Anyways, from what I can see on the photos posted it looks like it is still going to take place before Tokyo Drift, seeing as the actor who played Han is back in this one. You know for a guy who was supposed to die in an explosion seems to keep coming back in the Fast/ Furious films. I wonder what type of role Dwayne Johnson will play in this film? Is he the cop sent to take them all in now?
