Bruckheimer and Disney hit Lightspeed

Looks like Disney is preoccupying Jerry Bruckheimer until he stops making big budget films that make money. And the latest installment wont be an adaptation of a game or amusement park ride. In fact we know very little about the Lightspeed script they shelled out $3.5m for.

Ramascreen shares:

Disney and Bruckheimer Films have bought the epic space adventure LIGHTSPEED for $3.5 Million from scribes Terry Rossio (Pirates Of The Caribbean movies) and Bill Marsilii. They both previously got paid mid-seven figures for scripting Bruckheimer’s 2004 thriller Deja Vu starring Denzel Washington.
LIGHTSPEED will be live action and in 3D. The story is about “a young pilot who makes the Earth Interstellar Racing Team and must take his ship on a perilous journey across the galaxy on the brink of war.”

Its a vague story synopsis. Could be The Last Starfighter for a new generation.

But knowing Disney and Bruckheimer are behind it, its bound to be big.

I will wait and see what comes of this before I get excited.
