Superbowl Star Trek Spot Online

The new Superbowl Star Trek TV Spot is online after being pulled from a number of sites yesterday. This one gives us more of a look at some stuff we didn’t see in the first one.

Frankly I liked the last Trek trailer better as it felt more “Trek” than this does. Still not swayed. I think the film will be great.

  1. i actually liked it more and it looks the furthest from star trek that i have ever seen and for me thats a winner….the original series IMO had so much lacking…sure it was one of a kind when it came out …but does that mean it had to be a joke of a production and most of the stories where the farthest from the truth of real science….so im glad they went on to make it a action science fiction then a lame as space ride with no science in it -)

  2. To all the people who are bitchin’ about this film I say, Don’t go see it.

I suspect they want another film with the overweight Shatner in it along with V’ger. Loosers!

This trailer looks awesome. I do think that The Transformers trailer psyched more people out, but I am still going to be at the theatre on May 8th at 12:01 am. This incarnation of Trek is going to be awesome and as a long time fan I am greatful for the reboot or whatever the ‘kids’ are calling it these days.

Bring it on! Oh, and if this Trek looks more battle oriented… good. It needed it!

    1. Rodney,

I have five-hundred-fifty-three page manuscript being evaluated by a publishing house. I could have used you before I sent it out. If it get’s rejected maybe you could do a copy edit for me. Lol!

  3. Sigh. I am less and less disenchanted with this film.
‘Who should we put in charge of our new $800 Billion space ship?’
‘How about that undergrad who got in a bar fight?’

    ‘Yeah, that makes perfect sense!’

It seems JJ Abrams enjoys playing with age like this.

Did anyone see the ‘leader’ of the soldiers on Lost last week? Same thing! Her gun was bigger than her!

    1. Who should we put in charge of the largest military power on the planet? George W Bush.

      And this is far fetched?

Besides, you haven’t seen the movie. Clearly he gets talked into joining the academy and THEN becomes an officer who eventually Captains the Enterprise. Its not like they walk into a bar, pick the guy with the bloody nose and say “Him. He should captain our flagship!”

      Obviously he earns it.

  4. Great updates. I hate to say it but I have a feeling this summer is going to stink.
Although it is hard to follow the fantastic summer ’08.

G.I. Joe looks like garbage ( 4 words… director of Van Helsing)
Fast and Furious (really, another one??)
Transformer 2 ( looks like the first one, a fun ride you see once, once)
Angels and Demons ( meh )
Land of the Lost looks fun but its a big longshot
Up loooks great but its under the huge shadow of the Wall-E (pixar’s best)

Call me a dork but the film I’m looking forward to the most is TRON 2.0
    Isn’t that a summerfilm?

    1. im looking forward to gi joe and transformes and curious about land of the lost b/c i liked the old tv show, but i do agree w/ the fast and the furious, i can gaurantee its gonna suck for one im a pessimist and b/c vin diesel and paul walker are in it.

  5. the fast cuts are a bit much. but i do like urban as mccoy in that little glimpse.

just not sold on pine. thats is gonna take a lot of work for me to get behind.

i have a good feeling about this though

  6. Enough with the fast cuts, you want us to go see the film, so let us SEE a little bit OF the film! More then five frames from any one scene would be much more interesting to watch!
