The Movie Blog: Uncut Now LIVE Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday.

Hey there guys. For those of you who are members of The Movie Blog: Uncut facebook group, you already know this, but for the rest of you we have some pretty cool news.

Last week I was contacted by Brad Greenspan (The guy who created MySpace) about a site he owns called LiveVideo.Com and he wanted to discuss the possibility of The Movie Blog doing some production out of their studios. We set up a time and I went over to meet with his people (their studios are just a 7 minute walk from where I live in Hollywood) and look around. I was really impressed with their set up (3 production studios in the building) and their technical support staff.

So here’s the deal. Starting this Monday (that’s tomorrow!) The Movie Blog: Uncut will be broadcasting LIVE every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9pm EST (6pm PST). We’re very pumped about trying this new format out and really hope you guys “tune in”.

Now, some questions you may have:

1) WHY LEAVE NOWLIVE?
We have totally loved working with the NowLive network and have nothing but great things to say about them and our experience with them (especially SoulVideo). But LiveVideo.Com right now is a better fit for us in terms of schedule, and in terms of distance (It takes us about 45 minutes to drive to the NowLive Studios instead of a 7 minute WALK to the LiveVideo studios). I’m sure we’ll work with NowLive again in the future.

2) WILL IT STILL BE A PODCAST / WILL IT FIX THE FEED?
Yes! We will be creating new feeds for both the video and audio only versions of each show that can be downloaded via iTunes or any podcasting client you use. We’ll also post up the shows after they’re done so you can view them later if you wish (but live is more fun)

3) WILL IT STILL BE INTERACTIVE?
Yes! We will still have a great live interactive chat board. Doug and I will use the first half of the show to talk about news items, and then use the second half to take your questions and comments off the chat boards.

4) HOW LONG WILL THE SHOWS BE?
1 hour usually

5) HOW DO WE WATCH THE SHOW?
Just go to The Movie Blog at the scheduled start time and it will start playing on the page automatically. Or you can go to our LiveVideo channel located at www.livevideo.com/liveshow/uncut

6) WILL THERE BE LIVE SHOWS DURING COMIC CON?
No. We’ll be doing LOTS of video updates and we will be podcasting from Comic Con, but no live shows (that means now live shows this Wednesday or Friday

So there you have it guys. PLEASE join us tomorrow night for our first Monday Live show. I’m sure there will be some bumps, but you’re participation and input will help us make it better and better as we go along!

  1. keithandthegirl.com have been using livevideo for their live video feed for a short while now, good system. definetly no censoring (if you’ve heard the show, you’ll know what i’m talking about)

  2. I will miss SoulVideo :-(

He fit right in, the interplay was perfect, even better than with the Round Table crew (who are also missed).

Maybe he can guest? (Or gasp, officially join TMB) I hope so!

  3. Camepa common Mounday night roundtables are fun. Do not do uncut live shows just for the sake of reaching 400 podcasts or 1000. Whatever goal you have.

  4. While I understand that UNCUT is moving up to better things with this new studio, I think 3 live shows per week is too much. (at least have the monday roundtables). If memory serves me right, you guys did all live shows for a short period and people complained so you switched back.

  5. Hey… Mr. “Rain-on-the-parade” here… Will the “pre-recorded” shows end? While i do like the live shows, i prefer the prerecorded jams better (maybe i am in the minority).

I like the interactiveness of live, but sometimes they tend to cause repetitiveness. You may get asked “What did you think of The Dark Knight” for like 8 shows. Also, the sound quality tends to be better for the pre-records. (Nit-picky i know).

I have been enjoying the distinctiveness (DAMN ME – Enough with the “ness”-es) of the mix of pre-records and live versions. Like having multiple “flavors”.

Does livevideo.com have studios in Qatar?!? Maybe Mr. Conley could join you live via satelite!

They wont “edit” Doug will they? Myspace doesn’t allow dirty pics, so what if they dont allow a Dirty Doug?!?!?

Also, if you stop the pre-records you will never reach episode 300!

Regardless of what happens, you guys bring us top notch entertainment, and i will always be a fan and supporter!

  6. Is SoulVideo feeling dumped?

He has kind of become a part of the extended family on TMB…. kinda like that third cousin you still admit is family because you like to hang out with him.

  7. I am going to like having three interactive shows a week. I will really miss Soulvideo though. Wednesdays were usually bad for me but not Mondays and its early enough Friday nights that I can make it. I take it this means no more roundtable episodes while you are in Los Angeles which is fine by me because I like the interactive shows much more.

  8. Might be interesting.
And I have been missing the Wed shows for some time myself; I was lucky enough to catch the first 15-20 minutes last (and it seems “the last?”) time but I could not stay for the entire show *and* because I was at my college at the time, they had the audio system turned off.

(I got my stuff done, I’m not a slacker!)

    ****

    Anyway…some quick Q’s:

No call ins at this time?

Webcam access (don’t worry, no one will moon you, but I can only speak for myself)?

Do we have to sign up a profile on the site to gain chatroom access? (I’ll find out soon enough, but for the sake of others)
