Hasselhoff In Talks To Join Knight Rider Cast

Real-Kitt-Start-SceneThis is better than the biblical tale of the prodigal son. David Hasselhoff, the lord of man, is in talks to star in the upcoming Knight Rider project. We get this perfect news today from comingsoon:

David Hasselhoff is in talks to appear on NBC’s “Knight Rider,” reprising his role as Michael Knight from the original series. “Rider,” from UMS and Dutch Oven Productions, is a sequel to the 1980s series that centers on Mike Tracer (Bruening), Michael Knight’s son who never knew his dad.

This is not movie news, but this is glorious news indeed. It sucks that Hasselhoff will not be the lead in the series, but I am glad he will be in the show. I hope he plays the father figure as well as David Caradine did in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues.

K.I.T.T. is a pretty awesome character and I am glad to see him back as well. That whole incident where he burned a Peruvian hooker with a cigar was certainly a low point in his life, some said he would never rebound from such a PR nightmare (and I was one of them.) But after becoming born again and doing charity work with former President Jimmy Carter, his public profile has had a miraculous resurrection.

This is certainly a show I will watch, and I hope it is good enough to keep my interest. If they start the show with a TV movie we would have cause to discuss it on TMB:Uncut – and I look forward to doing so.

  1. Although I earlier said that David Hasselhoff should not be in the movie version, I don’t object to him starring in the TV remake. Let’s hope he doesn’t screw this up.

  2. im guessing with this new series that the old “Team Knight Rider” will no longer be cannon. If i remember right they killed Micheal Knight, but there was another one.
