john I bet anything they are not going to anything as drastic as you suggest.
perhaps the storyline will be that they change the future or fuck everything up as you suggest but by the end of the film they will have resolved everything and it will be business as usual…
sorry if shatner is in it as kirk and we know nimoy is in it as spock…
in my mind that makes it a prequel.

Also, the rumour about Shatner being in the movie isn’t exactly “today”‘s news. It originated four days ago on AICN – look for the black entries by Hercules in the Talkback area, they’re easy to spot. He probably has some inside information but nothing official yet to back it up.

The “Female Executive” is a woman named Casey McKinnon and she also does a show called “A Comicbook Orange” on the web if anyone is into comics. Its a brief 5-7 minute weekly vid-podcast giving the latest comic book reviews. I think she is quite funny, quirky, and cute.

Because they’re changing everything… that’s how it’s a reboot.
Look, I HATE the time travel nonsense… but the one thing it has going for them here is as a hook to connect this all. They get to have their cake and eat it too.
Once they say the time line is altered… all bets are off… they are free to go completely off cannon and go whereever they want to go. The rules change.
The federation can become evil. The Klingons can wipe out the romulans. Spock can have a violent fight with his father and kill him. The franchise is re-started from scratch without having to stick to the old traditional star trek cannon.
That’s how it’s a reboot.
