Confessions of a Superhero Trailer

One of the first things that really caught my attention when I made my first visit to Hollywood last year was how many people there are right down by the legendary Hollywood and Highland corner (specifically right in front of the Mann’s Chinese Theater) dressed up as famous movie characters. The new documentary movie “Confessions of a Superhero” looks at the lives of these people.

Most of them came to Hollywood wanting to be actors, and now play these roles on the street corner making money off of tips from tourists who want their pictures taken with them. Slashfilm put up the trailer for it and the reason it caught my attention is that I actually met 2 of the guys. Superman, and The Hulk. Remember when Time magazine did that article on me and some other movie websites? Well, as you can see in the picture below, they hired the Superman guy to come in… and the Hulk guy is the one dressed up as Spider-Man. Let me tell you… these are interesting people… to say the least.

Superheroes-Day

Well anyway, on the photo shoot that day they told me all about this new documentary they were in… and here it is. Check out the Confessions of a Superhero trailer:

  1. If you make promises to people, especially in CONTRACT, you should do it! AND YES….they do get paid, that’s the WHOLE POINT!!!!!
But it is O.K. to Lie to them, to decieve them, to try and steal their lives so they can never do anything again?!
It is O.K. to try and ruin thier lives for your benefit?!
It is O.K. to be a Lying, Thieving, Backstabbing, Misguided, Delusional, Sneaky, Arrogant, Scheister!
    What was I thinking?!

  2. The actors in the movie aren’t as screwed up as this movie protrays! Some sentences were edited together to make it sound completely different. Yes, it was done well, but it is done with Lies, Deception, and Unrighteous Arrogance. Matt Ogens is also trying to “Steal” the lives of the Characters with Unconscionable contracts!
This way they can never be an actor, their character, or their life and name ever again.
The movie was dark, because Matt made it that way. He has so many promises to the Actors and has done nothing but “BAD” to them. They have not seen a dime for this film AS HE PROMISED. The actors, who really made this film, starve while Matt sits in banquet making $$$ off Lies, Deception, & Thievery. The film may be good to people….but Matt gives a bad name to film makers!

  3. The movie was well done. After a screening in Hollywood, a couple of agents came up to the people who were featured in the movie.

At least they are trying! And not worthless jerks like Paris Hilton.

  4. So let me get this straight, somebody brought Christopher Reeve’s back to life, gave him the ability to walk again and told him to stand in front of a popular tourist spot to shill for a few bucks a day? One would think that heaven would have a bigger reveal for its second ressurection, that and a better dental plan.

  5. This made me want to cry. And not because I look at these guys as losers- it just feels tragic- just another person’s dreams of happiness- and the likelihood it won’t happen. The whole affair just feels genuinely sad.

  6. OK I JUST HAVE TO SAY EVERY ONE HAS DREAMS AND EVERY ONE HAS A UNIQUE STORY, BUT THE GUYS SEEM TO BE DELUSIONAL……I MEAN YOU SEE THEM CRYING AND SAYING THAT THEY KNOW THIS IS KINDA WACK…..SO I DONT FEEL SAD FOR THEM I FEEL THAT MAYBE THEY NEED TO ORGANIZE AND SAY FUCK IT WE ARE A NEW SUPER HEROE GROUP BITCHES! LOL ACTUALL THE GIRL WAS CUTE.

  7. This looks fascinating. I’m really interested to hear about these peoples’ lives. I wonder how deep it’ll go into their actual day-to-day lives as opposed to their dreams. What’s really funny is that from one perspective, some wannabe actors would love to have a “Gig” like this, just to be doing something related to acting.

  8. Hey Mozzerino

Dude, you have NO IDEA. When I first showed up for that photo shoot, I had to do a SERIOUS double take. The guys even talks like Reeves… it’s really freaky.

  9. These guys show up on Jimmy Kimmel Live every once in a while. Pretty funny seeing Sponge Bob Square Pants re-enacting the OJ Simpson break in LOL.

  10. Hey grave,

Your observations are pretty much right on. And don’t laugh, but when I was with these guys, they told me a lot of stories of Studio reps screaming at them right there on the street, threats of lawsuits… yadda yadda yadda.

  11. Ya know I really feel that these guys are intresting, and they are trying to do something that shows courage, and guts, as well as entertaining. However, these guys are truly deluting themselves. Walking up and down the streets and asking for money in trade mark superhero costume. These guys seem like superhero bums in the video. But you have to give them credit for doing something no one else does. Hope Marvel and DC doesnt sue them for trade mark infiringment. hahaha
