There has been a lot of whispers and speculating going around the last couple of days regarding the fate of the Superman Returns sequel (which we’ll just call Superman Returns 2 for now). It all got kicked off by word that Bryan Singer has signed on to do another project. This got the windmills going at a breakneck pace.
The problem is, Singer always planned on doing another film prior to shooting Superman Returns 2 in 2008. So this isn’t new news at all.
But on the internet, one rumor sparks off another and the dominos keep falling. Since people assumed that Singer would be delaying Superman Returns 2 (which he’s not), new speculation arose that Superman would be appearing in the new Justice League film that was reported earlier this month instead of his own sequel.
The problem is that every source from the studios and those who work with Singer are all saying the same thing “We have already started work on Superman Returns 2, and we are starting shooting in 2008”. Period.

Thanks John, there was a rumor about a total reboot with the Wachowskis that appears to be total fabrication. I saw that rumor was debunked and that everyone working on returns 2 is already working on it now. I for one am glad
According to DC Die Hards, there are THREE core members of the JLA.
Batman, Supes, and Wonder Woman. Other staples like Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter are pretty solid choices, but forgivable.
I would really like to see each of these characters getting their own movie before doing a JLA Movie. This will eliminate the need to do character origins and get right to the story at hand. And I see no problem combining Singer’s Superman and Nolan’s Batman. The comic books both had very different tones to them yet they co-exist in JLA.
JLA movie should be a meeting place, not a starting place.

and i kinda agree with @SPENCE’s comment; superman and batman are a *must* in any JL adaptations, BUT exceptions exist, and for batman fans (like me) that hated seeing the knight’s films going to the toilet in the 90s, we are of course in favour of protecting what nolan has done so far… and because it’ll be almost impossible and outta this world to make a decent merge of Singer’s Superman and Nolan’s Batman, i think a JL film is not good for Batman nor Superman; and i’m not even mentioning Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Lintern, cuz these 3 have as well very different ideas, worlds, themes and storylines between them that will make the release of a decent JL movie almost impossible.
I dont think the film will work out because batman is more of a dark charactor wile superman aint, it wont work out right plus i herd that the new batman movie batman dies, superman and the flash might go together well i think

I read at filmjunk that batman wasnt going to be in it, and if he isnt in the movie then i probably wont even bother with seeing it….Sorry but two superheros MUST be in the JL, Superman and Batman…….
