Fred Claus Trailer

The First Fred Claus trailer has hit the web, and it’s pretty cute for a teaser. It may not even be a “teaser” so much as an “announcement” trailer. Vince Vaugn looks like… well… Vince Vaugn, and Paul Giamati looks GREAT as Santa. The two of them seem to have a really good working chemistry from the short video and my anticipation for the film just jumped about 3 notches.

Take a look at the Fred Claus trailer and leave your thoughts. Special thanks to Xavier for the heads up.

  1. I’m not saying i hated it at all… but, at least, TRADITIONALLY you only get those 12-18 month early trailers for big budget, summer blockbusters. If we start seeing 1 year+ early trailers for everything, i think it would ‘lessen’ the anticipation for the BIG releases… Just my opinion.

Side Note: you ever sit in a theater and watch the trailers (usually for films 1 -4 months away) and then see a trailer for like a huge movie, say ‘Batman: The Dark Night’ and say to yourself “Wow! I didnt know a the next Batman was coming out this year…” and after the teaser it says “Summer 2008”. Its like “D’oh!” You get so excited, yet disappointed all in one. That IS kinda fun i guess…

  2. Oh cmon guys. cut them some slack. movies usually do this, post a teaser trailer a year in advance, then quiet down and finish the film. then a few months before the movie comes out, they start to really advertise it. give them a break.

im sure you guys HATED having the spiderman 3 trailer come out a year and a half early, right?

  3. Looks like it has potential, but gimme a break… we are talking about a trailer for a film more than a YEAR away. For a COMEDY. Damn, i mean, why dont they throw up an “announcement” trailer for the final Harry Potter film… the BOOK isnt even out yet, and the title isnt known, but its coming! Spring 2013! Mark your Calenders!! OOhhhh, but wait! It opens the same weekend as “Transformers 5”, and “Aliens vs. Predator vs. Jason vs. Jesus vs. Ash vs. Elvis vs. Dubya”! Which one will i see?!?!?!

  4. Announcment Trailer – Teaser Trailer – Theatrical Trailer…

Who gives a flyin’ rat’s ass.

These two look like comedy gold together.
    Very funny stuff.

    Alfie,
The first time I heard “announcment trailer” being used as a description was for the Transformers movie. I’m sure it’s been used before but I cant think of anything right now. I would classify this as a teaser personally.

  5. Saw this last night on G4TV. Fricken HILARIOUS!

It’s cruelty that they won’t release this til Xmas 2007. I don’t understand why they advertise this far in advance. Nobody is going to remember this when next year’s summer previews start rolling in 2007. And let’s hope there are some good movies to anticipate between now and then…

  6. I love the trailer! Too bad it’s not coming out until next year though. I think a lot of us need to wash out the taste of The Escape Clause. I wasn’t too fond of Bad Santa either.

  7. Paul Giamatti is a God and is the best actor working today. Hands down. Even in shitty movies (Lady in the Water) he stands tall without so much as a speck of feces on him. This film will be no different. All hail to Giamatti. So say we all.

    American Spledor
    Sideways
    Planet of the Apes
    Illusionist
    Cinderella Man
    Man on the Moon
    Saving Private Ryan
and on and on and on… (not forgetting Bubba Nosferatu and the Curse of the She-Vampires) the man is BRILLIANT!

I will see anything he is in. I don’t care if it stars Linsey Lohan. If PG is in it, I will pay to see it.

  8. Ok this does look kind of funny. I would really like to see Vince Vaughn do something besides be Vince Vaughn (Although I really do enjoy it when he is just that). My only problem with that is …
*cough* *cough* Psycho*cough* *cough* Domestic Disturbance *cough* *cough*

There was Thumbsucker, though. That one I dug.
