  1. Why is Decepticon Brawl a police car? That police car should be Autobot Prowl, not Brawl. And Starscream should have been a F-15 fighter yet, not a F-22 yet. What were they thinking???

  4. If anyone finds it, that’d be swell; I wasn’t able to watch the webcast when it was live.

    Shame Hound isn’t in it; I’d prefer him to Jazz. Same with Soundwave, but I guess it’s better they don’t have him at all than they have him and he’s shit.

    Just a quick note on the Bungie comments though: As a Halo fan, I’m ok with them retaining creative control. The last thing I want is yet another of my favourite video game series’ sodomized to death because creative control was handed over to some douche ala Doom or Resident Evil.

    At least with Bungie at the helm, the film might bare some resemblance to the game it’s based on.

  6. What about Cybertron Thats where we should see the Transformers at least some of them. A while back when everything was being put together I heard the Arcee was going to be seen on cybertron and some other characters like Hound,Tracks,Powerglide

  7. Hmmmm…. It’s very rare that I ever comment/ participate with online discussions, but after seeing all of the ‘sneak peak’ pics of the Transformers movie and the handfulof prototype toy pics from various fan sites, I had to vent my frustration. Being one of the thousands of long time, hardcore fans, my initial felling is that of dissapointment. All I can say is “Well done Hollywood!” for creating what appears to be yet another diluted movie based on a strong property/source material, anyone remember the Hulk movie? Unfortunately I agree with most of the comments that you made, John.

    I reckon Bumblebee looks like a Bionicle, Megatron looks Escaflowne-esque and Starscream looks too much like one of the Beast Machine era toys. It’s a shame that the characters don’t have an updated twist on the original Takara, manga/anime designs, that made the original G1 toys so cool! which I’m sure many others will agree. “If it aint broke, don’t fix it!”

    I hope that I’m wrong and that the movie that I’ve been waiting for 22 years will deliver.

Ihavejust seen pics of the movie transformers in robot mode and Ihave to say im disappointed they look horid starscream has a face like waspinator from beast wars and no hands just guns for hands and the others have wires and cables hanging out all over the place it looks like something we would create here on earth now instead of a race that is millions of years old that should have a flawless robot mode instead we get tinkertoy puppets. to see for your self go to http://www.seibertron.com they have links to the pics.

  9. Well, considering this is a Michael Bay movie, if they had any more transformers in this movie our heads would explode, due to the amount of action. Not to mention, the amount of nose bleeds, due to adrenaline rushes.

This is just what someone else said early in a blog… People won’t be happy.. cause “their” autobot or decepticon won’t be in the movie… I think it’s a good thought out move to have fewer autobots.. and “different” decepticon… I wished Soundwave woulda been in it ..but Scorpinok will have to do as a replacement (he can’t but he will do)..

    the “newer” bots are a good twist.. to old heads that WONT LET GO…

  16. Starscream is the fucking shit. Do him right, and you’ve got a winner. Optimus Prime gets really old, REALLY fast. Even god damned 30year old(!) (no offense) fanboys will get tired of him. I guess this is directed directly at John: If you want Star Trek to be totally new, and your biggest (one of your biggest I’m sure you’ll say but nevertheless, the one you’ve been emphasizing in my mind) concern to be “have a captain who has an affair with the commanders wife”, how would you not get tired of Optimus Prime?

    Starscream rules. Soundwave – disappointing, but really, REALLY happy they did not announce him as an ad for Xbox or iPod.

    Jazz was cool, but I guess other than Optimus, Megatron and Starscream the rest of the characters are free game(?). So no idea what to expect. I read on aicn the set report of some sporponok action sequence which sounded like crap. I’ve seen G1 and who the fuck is Skorponok? Sounds like “go-to action transformer” to me. I’m betting he dies.

    Looking forward to it if the trailer is any good. It won’t be a better movie than Spider-Man 3 though. In any place of the movie-making circle, every person working on Spider-Man 3 beats Transformers, except PERHAPS Scott Stokdyk might not be as good as Scott Farrar as visual effects supervisor, which is a BIG deal, but seriously… This particular issue has everything to do with budget. If you give them the money to invest enough people in it, almost ANY effects house can win the oscar.

    Just look at WETA for example. And ILM has been innovators, but what has it been? Almost a decade since they won an Oscar?

  20. The list of robots in the movie is fine with me as long as they have elements of what made them great in the cartoon. Don’t use the name of a character if your not willing to use his personality too. It is the momentum of the movie that will sell it to me. There needs to be a point about half way through the movie were it all becomes a race to get to the big action finish. These are alien robots with powers beyond anything here on earth. They need to kick the action waaaaay up and not let it stop until the cliffhanger ending.

  25. I’m happy with the list of character, especially Jazz who I was hoping would be in this movie for weeks. Theres about 14 characters on this list and thats enough. We need to be introduced to each character, their personalites and realtionships within the groups and that would take a good 30mins or more to address on screen. I would have liked Wheeljack and HotRod though. If Bone Crusher is in this movie won’t the other contructicons appear?

  26. Well i guess to reassure John, when they addressed the part about humans to transformers issue, they said, its not going to be a movie with a few transformers, “this will be a transformer movie,” so I’m guessing it’s going to be predominantly transformers on screen.

    I like the list of Autobots it’s a good start espicially for old fans and also for picking up new ones. As for Decepticons, other than Starscream and Megatron, i’m not that impressed. How do you have only one constructicon? That’s like Voltron with 1 lion.

    selection of autobots was good, I agree there should be more autobots. Movie should be awesome, although I’m curious how the human\transformer interaction will take place with the size difference and will it look cheesy or sound cheesy when the transformers are talking while transformed…just a thought.

    Didn’t megatron shrink when he turned into a gun? Just wondering how that will look on the big screen.
