Thanks to Etherlad who sent me a link of this Google Video page which features a video editing project done to compare the timelines of the events in both Back to the Future and the segment that had the chronologically misplaced Marty McFly aka Calvin Klien revisiting the same time in the sequel.
It shows the last 15 minutes of Back to the Future in a split screen to the sequel. Pretty cool to see it “at the same time”

Nice work. Well put together, but you can see the mistakes in the sequences:
1) when the parents kiss – in the first movie (top) George is holding Lorraine’s face, while in the second, he’s holding her waist;
2) when MArty comes out from being on stage, in the first movie he’s looking outwards towards the stairs, but in the second, he’s facing back towards the curtain/stage.
Ha…Anyways, they’re great movies, and even though they’re “white bread” they’re wholesome entertainment for the kids, without having to worry about profanity.
its amazing how cool this movie is
Sorry about the mix up Rodney. I’m just used to every post coming from John and I don’t often look at the “Posted By” at the bottom of the posts on the main page.
Maybe you should start every post you write with “This is from Rodney NOT JOHN!” :-D

Good find “John”! (j/k Rodney)
While not quite the way I would have handled this edit (I would have went for full screen/split combo ala 24, as opposed to the constant split) the sheer novelty of the idea is amazing. Kudos to the guy that patched that together.

John?
Im not John….. oh hell… I give up.
LOVED IT!!!
Back to the Future was my favorite series of movies growing up. I love how it shows you how close they came to keeping the timing accurate (and where they messed up a bit).
Great post John. It would have been terrible if this blog was about over done movies like Jurassic Park or The Mummy…
Just messing with you Grandpa Reno ;-)

Back to the Future is SO white bread. Post about something more recent like Jurassic Park or The Mummy.
