Jackie-Chan-Jet-Li J&J ProjectPost submitted by: T-vo You can submit a post here

Oh my goodness… I think I need to masturbate. The folks over at Monkey Peaches give us this:

According to Hong Kong’s Oriental Daily and The Sun, Jackie Chan and Jet Li have agreed to star in the same movie now only known as The J & J Project, which will be announced officially with a teaser trailer during the coming Cannes Film Festival. An unidentified studio initialed the project, which has been in development for three months already. Jackie Chan will start working on the project after finishing Rush Hour 3. Chan’s other projects, like The Shinjuku Incident, with director Yee Tung-Shing and the untitled project with Zhang Yimou may have to be postponed for The J & J Project.

Thank god that they are both not teaming up in an american made movie. Hopefully it will be a Kick ass movie that takes us back to the glory days of Honk Kong action flicks.

  1. I am a 3rd Degree Blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do, and I was wondering if I can have a small part in Jackie and Jet movie. I always wanted to be in a karate movie, but no one never will give me a chance.

  2. i heard Yuen Woo Ping (Crouching Tiger, Iron Monkey and Fist of Legend) is also going to be involved in the project. if it should ever get made we are gonna have the 2 most stylish martial art actors and the best choreographer in the world. get ready for a real classic. if only they could bag Donnie Yen as a villain or something.

  3. People say jet li is the best because he is serious? Thats just the way jet li is, doesn’t really have anything to do with his fighting ability at all, yes, li is always going to be focused when he is doing something, especially fighting. He uses force and quickness in a straight forward format. li has amazing reflexes and will find an open oppertunity to attack you, and it wont take him long.

Now lets talk about jackie chan, yes being a stuntman/Acrobatic specialist looks very good on his resume, it adds a little hot sauce into his martial arts abilities, jackie is one innovator to the game that people won’t want to forget. Jackie knows alot of styles and the more you know, the well you can adapt, he has a concreate defense mechanisim and will just wait untill you wear out or make a wrong move so that he may capitalize, thats where endurance kicks in, also an essentail part of martial arts, yes chan finds himself in comedic situations where it just seems like chan doesn’t belong in martial arts, but in a way, he just makes it all workout.

chan and li would be unstoppable….give it up for the asian wu tang

  4. This movie is going to be a solid action flick. My favorite days of Chan was the 90s. “Rumble In the Bronx” Being my favorite, and “First Stike” being another. I really haven’t seen him do those types of movies since. Hopefully teaming with Jet Li will bring back that style.

  5. rumour is that Jackie Chan was not satisfied with Wong Jing directed City Hunter and their relation broke. Wong Jing made High risk to tease Jackie that he used stunt double (despite him repeatedly deny)I don’t know how much truth in there, but if you know Wong Jing’s style, no one will take this very serious.Jackie and Jet have always been friends, this is first time rumour on their cooperation, so I will wait and see.Personally I don’t like the idea they have different styles.

  6. I just found this comment in an article about Jet Li’s invlovement in High Risk….

Anyone familiar with my Hong Kong film preferences will know that I am no fan of Wong Jing, despite a varying degree of tolerance for some of his better work. So with some honest bias against the man and his trash filmmaking I declare High Risk to be a risk not worth taking. For all of his faults, Jackie doesn’t deserve this public defacing and most viewers don’t deserve to be assaulted by Wong’s whacked world. Jet Li is also above it and I suspect the poor guy was strong-armed into making an appearance as a result of Wong’s rumored ties to triads. Yet in fairness, this film is a good example of Hong Kong excess, something that has earned many fans and it will undoubted have its appeal for some.

  7. Do you guys know where I can read about Jet Li saying he wont do any more martial arts in movies?

Also I had no idea about the whole “High Risk” movie, was this a Hong Kong released movie or an American one? Did Li say it was pocking fun at JC or did JC just asume it?

Nice info everyone, Id be really interested to see these two colaborate in a movie, but its like so many other actions stars who are always looking for the perfect project. I remember reading that Stalone and Jackie are keeping eyes open for a joint project, as is Jackie and Arnold, execpt they did sort of work together in 80 days.

  8. I’m glad jackie seems to have gotten over his anger at Jet for making “High Risk” . That’s the movie about a baffoon of a HK action hero who “does all his own stunts”. But in reality it’s his body double (played by Li). And then some bad guys take a building hostage (ala Die Hard) and the body double saves the day, all the while the “action hero” is made to look like a boob.

I remember jackie was none too happy abou the whole thing, because it was a big joke at Jackie’s expense, and he has been on the record saying he will NEVER work with Li.

    Glad that got sorted out.

  9. Jet Li said ”Fearless” is his last movie that he will do Martial Arts in. So now I’m wondering is this J and J project going to be the last movie Li will use his Martial Arts skills in? Or will he even use Martial Arts in it?
