Ultraviolet gets rescheduled…twice

Ultraviolet.jpgWell we didn’t really think that the movie Ultraviolet was going to be up to much after some of the trailers, and it looks like Sony might agree. They’ve been shifting it round the schedule a couple of times, first to a busier stronger weekend, then back to a lesser one.

Thankfully, according to Cinema Blend, it’s moved from being up against some winnable titles…

February 24th put it up against…Doogal,…Madea’s Family Reunion…Running Scared

…to some harsher competition…

March 31st…Ice Age 2, Slither, and Basic Instinct 2

…not that great, but they are looking better than UV…Instinct just for the sex of course. Now though Sony have moved it again…

March 3rd…16 Blocks and Aquamarine.

…well that’s all that’s scheduled so far, and frankly I think 16 Blocks will knock UV’s…errmmm…block off. I sometimes wonder about the intelligence of all this shifting around in the schedules, so often we see it go disasterously wrong and a movie fall flat on its face because of what else it’s up against. Release dates can make or break a movie, and no more so with a movie that’s already looking a bit poor.

  1. While a movie like Ultraviolet may not seem that appealing on the surface, I would imagine the cult-like DVD success of Equilibrium will draw some people out that normally wouldn’t hit the theaters.
