Goblet of Fire gets 12A

HarryPotter-GOF-Poster.jpg…which really makes no difference at all since in the UK kids just walk in and don’t get questioned, or you see parents taking young kids in to a film that’s clearly not suited for them – Batman Begins was a prime case of that.

However, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has just been slapped a 12A, according to the BBC.

The new Harry Potter movie is the first in the blockbuster series to be given a 12A certificate rather than a PG, the CBBC Newsround website has learned.
Children under 12 will only be able to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire if accompanied by an adult.

“Younger viewers could be frightened by some of the more intense scenes,” said the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

The film contains “moderate fantasy violence, threat and horror”, it added.

Wooo! Are there any parents out there who pay close attention to these ratings, or would you make your own judgement?

  1. This just keeps getting better and better and time goes by. These movies are going to go down in history!!! I am actually surprised at how well the acting and plot is. The third movie left out a lot but still delivered to begin to darken the story. I am glad they gave this movie this rating…now I might actually be able to go see it without a huge amount of misbehaving noisy brats to ruin the experience.
