Now I’m not one to make rash statements without some serious thought and weight behind my argument, but as soon as I saw this news story from Cinematical I was hysterical with anger and had to be held down before I bit into my keyboard…again. Everyone calm while I quote…

Over at JoBlo they’ve taken this as fact, and let’s face it IMDB have been wrong before, but still, if this has any grain of truth what so ever you have to be wondering what the hell Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are thinking! I mean…what the hell are they thinking? Kutcher as Ash?! Geez guys…just because his name is close…
This bodes of cheese and badness for the remake, what do you say?
Bruce cambpell would have to be dead and deapitated and his head would have to be mentally retarted to let ashton play the role. and to add to a pevouise statment I don’t know if there would be any acters that woldn’t be unknowns that would be good for the role. It takes a certain knd of person to play the role of ash and not many poeple have that kind of understanding of the charicter.

It’s just one of Ashton’s Punk’d moves towards Raimi and Campbell. Read it on Bloody Disgusting. IMDB got a hold of the so-called “info” and posted it as actual news.
I say it’s purely rumor, I have also heard Bruce at conventions and book signings joking about the new Evil Dead remake and he would peg Ashton as the star, all in joke, making a point about hollywood and their obsession with remakes with young hot stars…
someone obviously just added it imdb to get people talking about this story again.
Hmmm, remake news is old, so I’m not gonna comment about that Althoug I don’t see that as a bad idea. In my worst movies ever made -list, Evil Dead has very nice second spot. Nothing works in this movie.
Aston as Ash, hmmm, have heard worst ideas but I don’t think he has enough charisma to do that role. I mean, if it is made in same way than original (which I suspect), you need man who can respectfully shoot one liners. And Kutcher ain’t your man.
Why would they remake it, makes no sense?

This is horrific, there is no need to remake the amazing Evil Dead whatsoever, but to cast Kutcher as Ash… i may as well kill myself now… if this is true i’ll be setting up an online petition to stop this disgrace
