King Kong Trailer Coming

The official site for King Kong has officially confirmed that the first trailer for the film will be screened in front of War Of The Worlds on June 29th with it going online a day before on June 28th.

The trailer will reportedly give you a first peek at King Kong in action. The movie stars Naomi Watts, Jack Black and Adrien Brody, with Andy Serkis performing the movements for Kong, much like he did for Gollum in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

As if I wasn’t already looking forward to going to War of the Worlds! I’m still nervous that Lord of the Rings was just a one hit wonder for Peter Jackson. I guess we’ll know soon enough.

  1. I loved the original King Kong (another childhood favorite)and honestly, if anyone can do it justice I think Peter Jackson can. I’m really looking forward to this movie – I’ll even pluck down an evening showing price.

I also took a swing by the movie site, it has some good stuff on it. And damn Peter has lost some weight! Kudos for him. He looks really good and I’m sure he’s feeling much healthier.

  2. Man, I hope King Kong works, because I was a big fan of the Jeff Bridges Kong from the 70s. Sure, it doesn’t quite hold up nowadays, but the whole Kong bathing Jessica Lange scene was enough to get my young hormones pumping. Plus, when Kong crushes Charles Grodin – that’s just great.

  3. One hit wonder? Have you seen DEAD ALIVE, Heavenly Creatures, Forgotton Silver?

If by hit, you mean big box-office…well maybe…personally though, I want good films, I don’t give a damn what they make at the box-office…And Peter Jackson is a good filmmaker who has done more than just LotR films.

  4. When I heard LOTR was in production (oh so many years ago) I was wondering how the hell Peter Jackson got assigned to the gig. But you have to give him his dues, they (the three movies) are so well done, so detailed, and so well produced that as long as he keeps his team around him …. King Kong should rock!

Also the production diaries are awesome. I have never heard of any other major motion picture letting fans watch the process of making the movie. For that alone … Peter Jackson rocks!
