Da Vinci Code Poster?

DaVinci_poster2.jpgAs buzz about the upcoming Da Vinci Code project just starts to get humming, this little poster has found it’s way onto the web as a possible teaser for the film.

Is this one actually legit? Personally I doubt it. Even though the concept of the poster is really good (simple, yet revealing) it just tastes like a fake. As the good folks over at Filmfodder said:

It remains to be seen if this is the real deal. Honestly, I find the “turning page” part of the image to be dubious, especially since it’s little more than a poorly-Photoshopped variation on the book cover. We shall see.

We’ll know in the next 2 to 3 days if this is real… but even if it’s not… it’s another good example of how the internet has changed the way movies get buzz going these days.

The funny thing is… as popular as the book is, I haven’t sensed very much excitment over this project yet. Maybe it’s the fact that no one can really see Tom Hanks in the title role (as good as he is). Meh… I guess like all things we’ll wait and see.

  1. Sometimes you cant really tell these days, but yeah, it looks a bit “fake”.

As for the excitement towards this project, well, I have to say that although I felt the book wasnt brilliantly written, after reading all his 4 books, I can say that Dan Brown cant properly give his books a satisfying ending, but desptite that, I am looking forward to this project because of Tom Hanks being in it. I still cant see him as Langdon as the majority feels but give it to Hanks to be able to turn things around, if he was able to make “Cast Away” watchable with just him and a volleyball, surely he can pull this one off. And it’s not as if Robert Langdon is such a complex character to portray.
