I think this sounds really interesting, and from the tagline alone I’d be really interested to see how it turns out. With each commandment taking a one hour episode from different Directors and Writers, I can see this being a big win. ComingSoon say:
“Each episode will center on one of the biblical laws put to the test in today’s climate. Since each hour will be written and conceived by separate helmers and writers, it is not likely that any of the stories or characters will cross over into other episodes.”
However, it does have the potential to be really dark and very down with every episode showing another broken commandment.

Crystal, I’m with you. My first reaction upon reading that was to roll my eyes up into my skull.
This will no doubt be as fair and balanced as Peter Jennings doing a report about Jesus.

I think Soderbergh discovered a huge reservoir of nice ideas for movies: Popular eastern-european films, waiting for a hollywood-remake. At least this guarantees interest in the rest of the world, where his films need to earn some money.
Would they have thought of this idea if Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ hadn’t done so much box office? Clooney and Sodergergh? Doing biblical?
Baehr, spot on. Just checked it out on IMDB and it’s the same movie alright.
Hollywood…there I was thinking it was an original idea for a moment.
Would that be a remake of Kieslowski’s Mini-Series “The Decalogue?”.
