In Toronto? Want to See Sets From the New Ron Howard Film?

Okay, if I didn’t suck so bad – actually, if my digital camera didn’t suck so bad – I’d have pictures to put up here but it does, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Was driving across Richmond Street in downtown Toronto yesterday and spotted a little something (Actually a BIG something) that I can only assume is from the new Ron Howard / Russell Crowe boxing flick Cinderella Man. The entire south face of the old Bay tower has been converted into a vintage facade of New York’s Madison Square Gardens, complete with ground floor shops. If you’re downtown swing by Yonge and Richmond to check it out. And send us some pictures, ’cause my camera’s deader than dead.

  1. The Queen St. E. set is being dismantled when shooting ends today. TTC has the street closed until about 6 p.m. today starting at Broadview/Queen and heading east.

  2. I have no idea whether or not the set is still there, but last thursday I was riding the Queen streetcar east of Yonge and there was a really interesting set featuring fake snow, a vintage esso sign, and about a block or two of old storefronts, very cool. Had I not been going somewhere and limited in bus tickets I would have stopped and nosed around.
