First Look at Evans and Atwell on Captain America Set

Today we get a pair of sources, both offering first looks at the filming of Captain America: The First Avenger.

First we get a look at Chris Evans sporting a dapper 40s hairstyle, but sadly not in the Cap outfit.

And people said he wouldn’t be big enough? Check out the pipes and those broad shoulders. That’s got superhero written all over them.

And check out the brief clip of Evans chasing down a car in his bare feet:

And our first look at Hayley Atwell on the set of Captain America

And a video captured from across the street with Miss Atwell running out of a shop and a car exploding.

This is shaping up quite well, and I am confident no one will be thinking about the Human Torch when they see this film.

  1. Holy Mother Marvel what are you feeding your actors man? MUSCLE MILK EVERYDAY! BREAKFAST, LUNCH, AND DINNA! Here have your HGH with your PROTEIN! Both Evans and Hemsworth look friggin big man. His hair isn’t bad at all, I would have prefered the military style buzz cut that Rogers sports but still looks good. I think if they did give him that cut he would resemble a juiced up Johnny Storm could be the reason why for the longer hair. Can’t wait to see pics of him in the actual suit.

  2. Damn marvel studios has a pipeline to Performance Enhancing Drugs man because he blew up fast. Digging the Hair style makes it look authentic. I can’t wait for this movie because I know the least about it.

  3. I saw him at the SDCC Marvel panel and he was just his regular size, wow he bulked up quick. I am very very impressed. I liked Chris Evans in Sunshine and Cellular, I am sure he will play Cap well.

I am just worried if he can match up to RDJ. RDJ just oozes charisma and pulls of Stark well, Chris Evans will have to bring his AAA game for the Avengers.

  4. Im not completly hooked with the plotline of the movie, because probably we could not see “The Cap” until half the movie or so, and we must go trough a lot of chat and bad acting before the shield could fly and hit some Nazi, but one thing is certain… he DOESN´T look like Johhny Storm at all, and that´s good for start.

      1. Because of the kind of movie it is, is not a thriller or a drama, and don´t get me wrong, i didn´t said ALL the acting will be bad (or do i?), Tomy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving and Stanley Tucci are awesome and very solid actors, but i really don´t think they can have enough lines in the film to thrill me, and that´s ok, im not waiting that “Captain America” win an Oscar for screenplay or make me cry when “somebody” gets frozen (even in carbonite), i just want to see a good comic book based movie.

I know that get good action and good acting in the same movie could be a very hard work (Heath Ledger broke the mould), because they only have 2 hours to tell a story, so,IMO if they spend too much time explaining the origins os Steve Rogers and Red Skull it will be boring, and if they spend too much time with the fighting sequences all the excitment to see “The Cap” throwing his shield and fighting nazis in the name of freedom will be lost.

So, being said that, i really don´t care if they can act or not, because when i look for oustanding performances i just watch Penn or Depp or Streep or somebody of that size, and what i want from this movie is just to be entertaining, faithful to the comic and with tons of easter eggs and cameos.

So, your turn dear Rod, do you assume all the acting will be great?

      2. I haven’t seen a name attached to this that implies to me it won’t be great. All the names on board are quality actors, and they don’t have to be legendary heavies like Depp or Streep.

Just because its a comic book movie doesn’t mean they wont bother to act the parts well.

    1. Well written nice language written for you opinion but it very sad that you assuming this film is beneath you for that I feel sir that you writing as well as it reads it comes off as ignorance.

Of course this is not a serious acting film. Should it be?

Depp as deep actor in my opinion he plays one role deep and one role silly.

But I enjoyed you comment sir.

  5. I gotta say, he bulked up very well. Got to give him credit, I was concerned he’d be too slight. There didn’t seem to be all that much time between when he was cast and when shooting started.
